We had a similar but older version of this that just died on us. Lasted about 4-5 years, but I've had to replace numerous parts on it over that time from the main hose/handle assembly to the main metal tube portion which came separated from the plastic pieces attached to it in such a way it couldn't be repaired and then finally what killed it was it started sparking when we hit the switch to turn it on. The replacement parts are EXPENSIVE. I paid more in parts over it's lifetime than we did for the vacuum itself. Still until it died it did a good job and didn't require me to clean the brushhead more than once or twice over it's lifetime since it was one of the "self-cleaning" ones.

We replaced it with one of the cordless stick vacs from Shark that we found for ~1/2 price $200 through Walmart on some random sale. Absolutely love it and the fact we don't have to walk around unplugging/replugging in the cord to go from room to room. Gets equal if not better suction compared to our old one as well surprisingly with enough battery life to get through all the sections of the house that we'll do at any one time.

They both have about the same features. This one has the Costco customer service backing though. And this one had the new body style so that it looks like this model year.

I have medium-long pile in bed rooms and low pile in basement. This vacuum does well for both. There is a by-pass air valve on the handle to adjust suction as needed.

Anyone been able to find it at a B&M club? I've been to St. Louis Park, MN just now and only found the more expensive models.

Bought it last time and it stopped working after 6 months. Returned to Costco for a refund with no questions.

One observation: the self cleaning doesn't work as advertised. Lots of tangled hair in the brush roll.

My experience hasn't been great. But I'm glad I got them at Costco

Instead of asking random people, you should look at the functions of each model to see if meets your needs. Watch product reviews on Youtube and maintenance tips.
Also consider the return policy incase something unexpected happens.
