Capacity is nice. Drive is stupid. Sticks out at 90 degrees from any keychain. Blocks adjacent usb ports. Cheap and fast tho.

A 256Gb SSD alone runs around $15, and NVME to USB adapters are $10-$30. I don't know where you will find such a combo (from a well-known brand like Samsung) that is cheaper than OP.

It's a utility app, not software that needs to be actually installed on your computer, so no need to go through an uninstall after.

I've purchased many different models of Samsung memory from Amazon over the past 5 years. I've never had one counterfeit, but I only purchase "new" and only with Amazon as the Seller.

Bought one of these about a year ago from microcenter. Used it as intended (key chain usb). The metal housing has warped/dented so much that it cannot be inserted to a usb port. From my experience this is not designed to be an "everyday carry" / usb keychain.

I don't think that most people are buying USB drives to put on keychains. Might be better USB drives for that specific use. Otherwise this drive's got great reliability and durability. I have many and never had any problems with them. Yes they can get warm/hot at times as a result of their ability to send internal heat to the outer shell. It's a very snug fit too, perhaps too snug, compared to cheap plastic sticks.

I don't know if the person who mentioned an Amazon counterfeit actually tested theirs with this. Also, I don't know if they purchased from Amazon as "new" (vs. like-new, etc.) and with Amazon as the Seller.

I think many reports of Amazon memory products being counterfeit weren't purchased under regular means.

This is the only USB drive ever which failed on me. Purchased from Amazon long time ago, failed on use # 2. I would say do not bother buying brand names from Amazon - either counterfeit or open/used. NEVER BUY SD cards and USB drives from Amazon, rule of thumb Smilie

Paid $17.99 for the gray 128gb back in 2020. Been on my keychain being tossed around a ton, works fine still. I only use it for random file transfers, not storing anything worth value or essential. Sleek look, durable from the casing, and as other said it's a snug fit when plugged in. Which I like

thanks, I'll give it a try and see if the speed is good enough for dashcam use case.

This one came installed from factory in my Tesla. Make sure that you don't have a fake. I bought a memory card from Amazon that was fake when shipped and sold by Amazon.com.

Likely they would get a 1 tb ssd. So the math would be a little better. Performance would favor SSD. Size would favor the thumb drive.Price would be close enough to even.
