Fantastic deal on one of the best OLEDs from 2021.
Best Buy return policy is lousy...15 days.
From rtings.com:

The LG C2 OLED and the Sony A90J deliver a nearly identical experience overall, but the LG is slightly brighter with some scenes. The LG also has more advanced gaming features, including HDMI 2.1 bandwidth on all four HDMI ports. On the other hand, the Sony TV has better processing, with much better HDR tone mapping and motion handling, so it's a better choice for movie lovers who care about an accurate image.

Since I watch mostly TV and Movies, I'm thinking seriously about this TV.

Good deal, especially if you cans core an open box. Not in a rush so I'm going to wait but I just saw oled prices should come down for the next models.

I agree! I'd be tempted to sell my A80J 65" locally if I could snag the 65" A90J for $1500 or less. The only A80J worth considering the 77". My wife and in-laws love the A80J 65", but I'm not a fan of it. The A8H was a better TV when you factor picture quality with the glossy screen.

Long story short. Sony swapped out my defective A8H for the A80J under warranty. I noticed the downgrades right away.

Is this pretty similar to an lgc2? I have been waiting on either the c2 or this Sony to come down under $1,000. Would not be using it as a pc monitor. I see tons of talk about the c2 but not much on this Sony

This clearance price is cheaper than an open box(excellent) A80k, or even a Samsung Q90B in same condition . Anything open box condition below excellent at BB and you're taking a risk.

The colors don't look as good, and the perceived contrast is lacking. After we received it, I kept comparing it our LG C1. At times it looks muted. I don't think most people won't notice the difference unless you have a glossy and non-glossy OLED next to each other. The motion and upscaling are much better than the Sony because that's Sony's bread and butter. Upscaling is important because most content is sub 4K and upscaling cleans the image drastically. Lastly the A80J is dim. If you have it in dark environment, you should be fine. If it's in a living room with a lot of ambient or natural sunlight, forget it.

If I were to buy a Sony OLED, I'd look at the A80J 77", A90J, A95K/A95L. The A80J is better than the A80K, and the A80K is better than the A80L. Hopefully my rambling helped you out, haha. Lastly, I think Sony butchered the smaller A80J models to push consumers toward the A80J 77 or A90J series. If the A80J and A90J shared the same glossy panel, you'd only buy the A90J for the 83" and Heat sink.

Just pulled the trigger on the A80k walmart deal. Should I cancel and get this instead?
