$100 off plus additional $100 off with Code AWOLED10. Lowest price so far for a new unit. Not necessarily a slick deal, but if you've been waiting for a lower than usual price on a monitor with a 3-year burn in warranty, this might be the time. I finally bought this today after tracking the price for a long while. Be advised there is a posted rumor that 2nd gen OLED gaming monitors are right around the corner with increased brightness and increased burn in protection. I decided not to wait but FYI.

I own this, bought it on the last sale. It's a very nice monitor, but it has one serious drawback! If you use it for longer than 6 hours, you have to run the pixel refresher to make sure it doesn't develop any image retention / burn in.

This only sucks because I use it when I work from home for 8 hours or more a day and it is frustrating to have to run the refresher in the middle of my shift.
The 38 inch is LCD, while the 34 inch in this thread is OLED.

As others have stated, check your Amex promos. I was offered $120 off $599+ purchase.

Several people are mentioning burn in risks. My question is how "quickly" are we talking about? Or does it "add up" over time if same static images are in same place but periodically instead of a single instance.

I use my current 34" UW for both personal and work. My job is mostly web-based apps etc but lot of items on these apps are static like tabs, logo etc etc.

Are we talking you leave a static image/text in one place for a few hours a day boom, burn in?

Normally when I'm not using the computer, monitor goes to sleep in 5-10 minutes and when I AM using it, I'm constant switching windows/apps etc etc. Reading all these comments makes it sound like you leave something static for a few hours and you're screwed.

Second, how "bad" or fuzzy is the text? Again my job is mostly looking at text based information. Is it really that bad?

Burn in is inevitable with an OLED. It's inherent to the technology. Each individual pixel has a finite lifespan. Using an OLED for something like movies allows the pixels to wear evenly, while having static images on the screen will wear those pixels unevenly. How you use it and how much you use it will ultimately affect WHEN burn in happens. Most of the people I know who used an OLED for work and web browsing experienced burn in around the one year mark. I personally know two people (besides myself) with this monitor that use it for about 60% work/ 40% gaming and they both got noticeable burn-in at 8-12 months. Both of them got refurbished replacements. One of them sold the replacement to switch to a Samsung Odyssey G9 so they didn't have to deal with burn-in. OLED will more than likely never be a great option for a workstation monitor. I use mine only for gaming and have a separate 27" IPS monitor that I use for web browsing, work, etc.
As far as the text fringing, it's not really noticeable unless your face is right up against the monitor.

I have both. The business give you 20% and the personal give you 120 off.

Plus your favorite cash back site give you 12% back. Total around 300-350. Not bad. I'm debating to buy this.
What is suppose to be my favorite cash back site, because I don't have one or even know what they areā€¦
