For just a few dollars more, you're getting a better screen in terms of higher refresh rate but a 16:9 aspect ratio. You're getting a much more powerful processor than the Ryzen on the LP5. This has a marginally bigger battery and less weight.
The LP5 has a faster RAM and double the storage though.
P.S. You can get this for lesser if you're eligible for EDU discounts or ID.me.
Brought down my laptop purchase to: $1,275.66 (after tax)
So i technically saved like $24 bucks off the advertised price (before tax)
And yes, I do get the discussion of 8GB vs 16GB on the GPU, but I'm not buying it for gaming, I'm buying it as a portable office workstation and this setup should be good for a number of years.

Without the tax, this brings the price down to $1164.99!
- Coupon became invalid once I logged into my account. It would work if checked out as guest
- I tried verify.me for military and HP indicates my account is associated with another HP store, which I have no idea

I've trying to see how upgradable it is. I have 64gb of DDR5, and two 4tb NVMe drives that I want to stick in it.
