The article you linked starts off by listing the types of medical conditions and medications that are contraindicated if you're applicable.
It then says NAC is safe for human consumption, but will be banned in food supplements because this is a pharmaceutical ingredient? Notice they didn't say it was a drug.
It's true NAC is used as the antidote for Acetaminophen overdose.. but it's basically amino-acid: what's next , Meletonin and Vitamin D are banned too because in 2027 it's used as a "pharmaceutical ingredient"
