Well, you do go back. Over the same part of the floor a few times.

The best cordless I've tested (V10?) is still well below our 10yo basic DC40 corded model on everything. They're great for portability and touchups, though. Dyson batteries can be spotty, but the 2y warranty helps.

Bought this about three years ago in a weird, Macy's Black Friday in July event for $199. It's a solid vacuum and it's definitely more powerful than the V8 cordless we have. I prefer to use this one when cleaning the whole house as opposed to quick touch up cleaning with the cordless.

Not sure if this one from Walmart comes with the same amount of attachments (a lot) that the Macy's variant did.

I have both. If I'm doing a quick clean up job or dusting, I'm using the cordless. If I'm vacuuming the entire room with carpet, there is no contest between my upright, corded Dyson and my V8 stick.

I enjoy them both for different uses. The stick simply doesn't have the pulling power of the corded vacuums and the batteries die quickly and take forever to charge but they are highly portable. The corded vac is big and heavy and you have to deal with the power cord constantly but it is powerful and lasts as long as you need it.

Stick vacs are great if you live in a very small space without carpet. Anything else and I'm very glad I have both.

Seems like it would be annoying to move around.
The canister ones are much better, almkst anywhere but the US (mostly europe and asia, nit sure about south ir cebtra america) use canister ones. Here is why it's better:
You are not carrying the entire thing, the motor and everything else stay on the floor and you only move the nozzle while working and the motor would follow along rolling. This is specially good for people with disabilities or elders, and it's much less tiring. They do tend to be kore expensive in geenral though here in the U.S.

My experience has been that the canister ones have more powerful suxtion in general. It miggt be that they care less about the weight of the motor since it's not being carried around or it could be something else. But this is the same design used by commercial vaccum cleaners with really powerfuk suction (i.e. shopvac etc. )

I have gone through many vaccum cleaners from living in different countries and what not, and i do find here in the U.S. shark canister vaccums give you best bang for the buck. For about 100 dollars you get something that lifts the rugs up with it, very powerful and durable. I got one on sale for 60 from amazon. So if you want to save thats my recommendation, otherwise this is a solid deal too

We bought this from Costco a few years back. It's powerful, but my wife prefers the upright over this so it's now in the garage looking for a home. We use the ball upright and a Dyson cordless stick vac. With 2 dogs and 3 cats, Dyson's vacuums are running all the time in our house.

Naw bro, you need one of those Oreck XLs from that old guy what would pick it up showing how light it was.

The jump I noticed between the v15 and the previous v6 was absolutely monumental. In fact the v15 with the gates closed on the floor head on carpet was doing as decent as the upright Miele or older dyson ball DC25 we had. So much that we have stopped using the corded machines since the past year. Plus it has a dirt detection system and increases power when there is more particles. I can indeed say it replaced our other vacuums. And you know it's working because I see sand and fine particles in the container so it's not just picking up surface dust.

But it is very pricey. We were lucky to get it around $400 at Bed Bath and Beyond when they had that coupon stacking deal. I'm curious as to how dyson could even improve the design at this point because it was that good. Yea maybe it doesn't work like a top tier upright vacuum but it's pulling more out than a typical cheaper corded upright
I will fully second this. Had an older Dyson upright and just got the V15. The V15 outperforms it in every way, and is exponentially more convenient.

i have this vacuum and recommend it for a normal household however if you have pets, it fills up easily with hair and then becomes useless, worse than the average pet cleaning vacuum.

How long is the cord from the ball to the handle? I'm curious if it ever feels like you're annoyingly dragging the ball around.

I always wondered how these worked. So, it rolls behind you while you vacuum? Do you just pull it along using the vacuum tube?

I just posted a deal for the Shark CZ2001 at $150 https://www.walmart.com/ip/Shark-.../773974983

I bought one and just used it for the first time, experience was nice. I've never used a Dyson Ball vac so can't compare but I don't think suction is the comparison point. Probably ergonomics will be what pushes a user one way or the other
