Not only did they wrap up the series completely however I think they did it according to plan. Not your typical "let's wrap up all the plot lines in 3 episodes after we figured out we aren't being renewed" half ass closure most scifi shows are lucky to get. Also great how the end ties into the original beginning so well.

Bonus points for not ending the series with a few bad seasons like Falling Skies did. That show started so STRONG then nose dived to the point I think they were trying to force a cancellation.

Great show with a little bit of everything - humor, sci-fi, drama, action, gory violence, romance, moral dilemmas, and a ton of Easter eggs about other time travel movies and books. I loved it to pieces.

In the first five minutes I thought this was some cheap remake of the movie. It ended up showing such a complicated universe that the movie just scratches the surface of. So few times travel show follow their own rules and make sense. This show was very consistent, and did a wonderful job of wrapping up loose ends, even if it took a while to do it.

It's on Hulu. Definitely check it out if you have that service. It's an outstanding show.

I was just planning to watch the series all over again this summer on Hulu. FYI, the show's creator, Terry Matalas, was in charge of season 3 of Star Trek Picard, which was the best season of any Star Trek show in recent memory. He managed to bring several actors from 12 Monkeys with him to Picard, including Aaron Stanford, who was in heavy makeup, but I recognized him anyway.

And he dropped a couple word nods into the dialog as well.

Probably my favorite television show since The Shield ended. Fantastic, heady sci-fi involving time travel and the struggle to prevent an apocalyptic future.

The movie with Brad Pitt is pretty good but the show is convincingly better with its far deeper cast of characters.

I am a few episodes into season 2 of Picard and it feels really bad. I thought season 1 was okay. Does 2 get better? Is 3 good enough to keep pushing through 2? All the stuff with their ship guest, I am being purposely vague to not spoil for others, really trivialized the seriousness of that threat for me.

Just skip season 2 if Picard entirely. It doesn't get any better and has no bearing on season 3.

The original movie was excellent.

For this TV series version, it might be better to have never seen the original.
I gave up after 2 episodes and was sad that I wasted my time.
Better to read reviews on movie sites rather than deal sites.

Difficult to get re-boots to the same quality of the original because most of the modern writers are probably in their 20s and weren't even born when the originals were made - and probably never watched the originals or liked it.

Same for modern Trek, except Picard did meet the minimum requirements. Their tight little group of Trek production execs just went way off track with direction to writers just to blast out episodes and appear trendy and modern.
