Not a good enough price for old tech(ddr4 and 7nm zen 3). If it were zen 4 with ddr5 then it would be more appealing. Knocking $150 off the price would do the trick as well.

Not sure I'd agree. I'm not sure you can find a comparable thin & light system for under this price? This Ryzen 7, while based off zen 3, will still generally outperform a zen 4 Ryzen 5 6600U by a fair amount (10-15%). I think saying $400 for this would be somewhat of a pipe dream with a 2023 processor. Now $549 isn't an "amazing" deal, but I think you'd be hard pressed to find a comparable thin & light at that price.

I think it would be better to say that one would be hard pressed to find a slick deal on a modern Ryzen notebook from Newegg today. Maybe tomorrow something will pop up 😉

The performance with a 10-15% difference is more like marketing BS. In reality, it is not that much different than 6600u.

Like you said if you are hard press and need one ASAP buy it. If not just wait for another SD deal when back to schools sales begin.

Gpu is horrible though, it's not the same level of the 660 or 680 m, so I feel they are worse then their predecessors. Ryzen conning us with these.. The zen 4 chips are worth it, great apus
