yup, just checked return window and right under the 30 days!

im still learning all about generators and right now i have no plans to wire in a transfer switch and buy a huge generator. id rather have 2 or even 3 smaller generators.

neighbors would absolutely love me with 3 fired up around the house and probably show up with their own extension cords in hand! laugh out loud
When using extension cords in a power outage where there is no transfer switch this 30 amp split-er cord is perfect. One heavy 10 ga cord to bring the power inside from the generator's 30 amp 120V outlet then use 3 x 12 ga cords to run out to the fridge and to other rooms where you need temporary power. For $35 this deal cord provides precisely the needed solution. Even if folks only have the 30 TT receptacle on their 120V generator they should get this for outages.

Yup, this is exactly what i plan on doing. this 10/3 3-split into the garage and to a 12/3 cord into the house for a heater or some kind of small portable AC.

For those with 120/240V generators which have a L14-30R 120/240 volt receptacle use a L14-30 adapter extension cord as the temporary main power entry to the structure. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GH5N2LF/
This one terminates to two pairs of 20A standard receptacles with each pair connected to one side of the 240 V generator's two 120 volt circuits.

L14-30 adapter type cord sets should split to the loads as above across the generator's two 120 V legs. This way the full load on the generator is balanced just as it is when the L14 is wired to the balanced house panel via the transfer switch. Users must make the effort to balance out the loads connected to each 120 V side of the 4 wire extension cord, for example one 15 amp heater per outlet.

Instead of making use of the 30 amp outlet on the generator most inexperienced users run multiple 14 or 16 ga extension cords out the generator and plug them in to the duplex outlets on the generator. This increases the chance of overload, fire and equipment damage. Voltage drop will occur with the light duty extension cords.

i noticed this when i was looking at regular 10/3 cords and their max amp/watts. this 10/3 3-way cord can do almost 3 times a regular cord since its plugged into the 30 amp twist/lock outlet.

Not quite. It should be able to handle 30 amps instead of the 20 amps or less of a common extension cord. 10 ga, 25 ft and the 30 amp input connector gives the amp rating . 3 x 125 volts for the receptacles =3750 watts mentioned. I wonder why the listing for this Joe cord states that the input is only 20 amps. I will look for its certifications and markings when it arrives. Note that the four conductor L14-30 split-er cord is rated 7500 watts due to the extra 125 volt circuit.

If it is at all possible to manage a permanent wire run from the house load center to a generator inlet outside the structure that is the way to go. Homeowners can do the work and have an electrician make the final connection for a reasonable cost.

Price has dropped to $31.30 June 8 at 9 am PDT Great price for a 10 gauge power cord even if you need to change out the L5-30 plug.

Yes and no. This cord is for your generator if it has the L5-30r outlet.

Your operating or running wattage can't exceed 3200 watts according to the spec which you give. Check the specification for generator running amps. Check the generator breaker amps. Do not exceed the lower of two amp ratings.

Peak wattage aka "Chinese Watts" and peak amps are only for a few seconds when a motor starts which will not cause a problem with overheating the power cord.

Generators work best and have the longest life at 70% of the rated output which is 2240 watts in this case. Note that generator ratings are given at 70F and at sea level. When ambient temperature rises or the generator is used at elevation the available power is less. In these conditions use 50% of rated watts ( 1600 watts here ) as your target unless the operation is intermittent.

Respectable generator manufacturers never use "peak watts" to describe their product. It is a dishonest and confusing rating. Westinghouse and Briggs are one of the few Chinese brands which advertise running not peak watts. i.e. wgen5300 = 5300 watt generator wgen7500 = 7500 watt generator. Amazon recently started listing these by peak wattage.

LoL just received mine from Amazon. It is a returned item from someone else. Amazon put the original box of the cable with the previous shippers address in a bigger box and selling it as new...
