FYI,

This is actually the Next Nature Peg Turbo. It uses a different, arguably inferior, midsole compared to the original Peg Turbo. Instead of a full length ZoomX midsole Nike used scraps of recycled ZoomX, a similar approach they took with the ZoomFly 5. This design approach necessitates the use of a carrier foam, in this case SR2, to cradle and protect the ZoomX scraps. Those scraps are also bonded to one another using some sort of adhesive. These two additional factors yield a shoe that has less bounce and response.

For a light daily trainer I would recommend the Saucony Endorphin Speed 2 which has Pebax without a carrier. Dicks is selling a couple of the colorways for around $60-64. Add the shoe to the cart to see the true price. Signup for the Dicks Newsletter and you will receive a unique discount code for an additional 10% Off and also includes free shipping.

Another alternative is the New Balance Rebel V3 via the Joe's NB Outlet. This shoe is on discount for $56 with free shipping with discount code SLICKDEALS. It has a responsive supercritical midsole of nitrogen injected TPU. According to an email, the last day for the Joe's NB sale is June 3.
Doubtful. I would recommend the currently discounted Fresh Foam More V3 from New Balance. The More V3's thick EVA based Fresh Foam midsole is better suited for static use situations like standing. The heel-to-toe drop is also significantly lower than the Peg Turbo (4mm vs 10mm). A low or moderate heel drop reduces the propensity for anterior pelvic tilt [physiopoint.ie], a postural imbalance that can cause lower lumbar back pain.

They shouldn't have brought back the turbo if they were going to make an inferior version. I loved my turbo 1 and 2, so glad I didn't buy this version

Nicely written post. Thanks for the info. Also a fan of the saucony speed 2, although it's a faster training shoe for me.

Every time I went to the Factory Store outlet, I kept on trying these on since they had a good discount so I tried to like them but they just didn't have that bounce of other ZoomX shoes.

The turbo 2s were some of my favorite shoes. I tried this nature version on at the outlet and it was very stiff and not as bouncy. I'd have to recommend the Saucon Endorphin Speed 2s and even the Saucony Speed Shifts over this all day. I really wanted to like these.

Thank you for the write up. Which trainer would you recommend for the occasional trip to the grocery store, walking to the mailbox, or picking up the kids from school?

Man thanks for this, I've been wanting the rebels for a while but didn't bite cause the shipping.

Still running in my V1 Rebels, can't find anything like them anymore!
