On one hand, WTF!!! I just bought on Monday and now $1,200 off just a few days later?! I was watching prices for two months and still missed it.

On the other hand, I would be thrilled to see the full tax credit available again on the non-Performance 3, but according to the IRS, the credit is still $3,750. See here [fueleconomy.gov]. This is current as of 6/1, so unless something changed since yesterday (and there is no news supporting this), it sounds like an error.
Feds updated the site as of 6/5 to show all Model 3s at the full $7500 credit

You are wrong, bless your heart.

Tesla Model 3 RWD starts at $40,240 but is now eligible for the full $7,500 federal tax credit (income limits apply). Previously, it was only eligible for $3,750. This makes the starting price $32,740 after tax credit.

Deal is even sweeter if you live in a state with additional credits:

VT: $26,320
MA: $26,830
PA: $27,330
RI: $27,820
DE: $27,820
NY: $28,320
CA: $28,330
CO: $28,330
CT: $29,030
ME: $29,320

Full tax credit details below, but the following income limits apply:

$300,000 for married couples filing jointly
$225,000 for heads of households
$150,000 for all other filers

The fact that the main HQ relocated to Texas and it's not even offered there is hilarious 😂

Pulled the trigger on a black/black Model 3 inventory model. No down, Tesla loan. 5.69% on $40,880.

I started the process yesterday using the app and the car will be ready to pick up tomorrow. Still can't believe how fast and easy that was.

I got the wall charger vs the mobile charger because I heard you can always buy a mobile charger off ebay or something later. Does anyone know if you get the wall charger at the same time you pick up the car? I have an electrician waiting to come out to do the install. He's charging $450, just FYI.

If you have a tax liability, you get the money. Regardless of what is due/refunded at filing time.

Example: You pay 10K in taxes for the year. When you file, ends up you should have only paid 9K so you get a refund of 1K. If you got this credit, your refund would be 8,500.

It looks at the tax LIABILITY.
Quote from KevinH4132 :
It's not true. Has nothing to do with whether you're getting a refund or not, it has to do with your total tax liability. You can only get the credit up to the amount of your federal tax liability for the year.
Great posts. If someone doesn't understand "Tax Liability", please seek an accountant. Even if you have an accountant, I would still understand how this works due to the size of this credit.

Looks like IRS website allows 7500 tax credit. Car absolutely still a POS and needs every credit it can get. Inventory levels going up to record levels. Tesla will be selling this car at $0 profit soon to scam investors into believing they can make money off "autonomy"

Texas doesn't have state income tax. Someone with $150,000 of income saves $12,000 in state income tax vs california.

I paid $25,000 in state income tax + sales tax to California in 2021 lol.

Same here

My car loan is 2.47% for 8 years.

So right now gold man Marcus is literally buying me a car when the interest is at 5.25%

Car is being paid by the bank... Electricity is paid by third party.
Marcus is lending 8 yr payoff personal loans at 2.47% for a large enough amount to buy a Tesla without putting $10k to 20k down? They were hard to get below 3% even when interest rates were low a few years ago for anything under 3-year payoffs. I'm assuming your origination date was like late 2021 with that interest rate.

You're leaving out something here...

New Model 3 will be released soon, I suggest waiting few months if you are not in a rush.
In the world of automobiles, I've found the opposite to be a best practice. Any tow truck driver or mechanic is likely to say you want to buy the later model where they've worked out all the kinks and not the one right after a major redesign.

Talk to a tax preparer to run up your deductions.
It'll be highly customized to your situation, what you have and what you can have; so no one trick will do it

And then gives it immediately back to the government on our insane property taxes.

So the gap between the Y and 3 is about $10k now, makes me think a price cut on Y is next?
Price on the Y was recently increased. More likely to see a price hike on the 3.

i bought one a couple weeks ago in mid May. Do I get 7500 or 3750 only?
If your car is already delivered, you get only $3,750. If you're still waiting for the car, then you should get the full $7,500.
