You forgot to mention the $1390 destination fee, $425 for wall connector, $230 for mobile charger, $250 non-refundable order fee.

Tesla Model 3 RWD starts at $40,240 but is now eligible for the full $7,500 federal tax credit (income limits apply). Previously, it was only eligible for $3,750. This makes the starting price $32,740 after tax credit.

Deal is even sweeter if you live in a state with additional credits:

VT: $26,320
MA: $26,830
PA: $27,330
RI: $27,820
DE: $27,820
NY: $28,320
CA: $28,330
CO: $28,330
CT: $29,030
ME: $29,320

Full tax credit details below, but the following income limits apply:

$300,000 for married couples filing jointly
$225,000 for heads of households
$150,000 for all other filers

NO IT DOES NOT.

Withholding is totally irrelevant to qualifying for the credit.

If you're unclear on this go read a 1040.

The part where you compute tax liability is lines 16 through 24.

THAT is where the $7500 EV credit comes off.

Your withholdings aren't even looked at until after that on line 25+

This is also not correct.

The Child Tax Credit is worth a maximum of $2,000 per qualifying child. Up to $1,600 is refundable for the 2023 tax year.

Refundable credits are computed AFTER non-refundable ones-- so the CTC is only "worth" $400 off your tax burden for these purposes- the $1600 left is refundable.

Thus if you had say $7900 in tax burden and one CTC and one EV credit, your tax burden would go to $0 and you'd get a full refund of the $1600 refundable part of the CTC

No, I'm not.

Doing a warranty repair on the first gen infotainment would've just swapped in a new 1st gen unit like any other legacy repair, not upgraded you to the much more powerful 2nd gen one.

Once again you've misunderstood the entire point, content, and details, of the post you're replying to in your zeal to confusedly jump up and down about how much you hate Teslas.

Also, everyone who was out of warranty, had the emmc issue, and chose NOT to upgrade to a next gen system got it repaired- even out of warranty- for free

Those who did it themselves before this campaign got reimbursed, in full, after the fact.

So even your misunderstand of what the topic is led you to bring up something you're fundamentally wrong about LMAOLMAOLMAO

No.

They offer free subscriptions to individuals that include all of the following:

Service Manual, Parts Manual, and Body Repair
Tooling Catalog and Wiring Diagrams
Service Bulletins
Labor Codes and Times

Meanwhile over at, say, lexus, you have to pay for this subscription annually for a bit over $500 a year.

So once again, Tesla is better than Lexus (or other OEMs, most of which charge for this- maybe all)

I'm not entirely clear what you're trying to determine aftermarket support for.

If you want to just upgrade the sound of the stereo (though it's already better than the Mark Levinson system in my Lexus was stock vs stock) you can just swap the speakers for ones more to your personal taste.

There isn't a traditional "stereo" to replace though like there was in your 2012 Lexus. The infotainment system is a literal PC running Linux with a touchscreen... the 2nd gen one the really old Teslas can upgrade to is Intel based... and the 3rd gen system now coming in new cars is running an AMD Ryzen.
If you go to certain Russian site, you can get the FSM and diagnostics software for $200 one time fee.

But then you will have done business with both Russia AND Musk. How immoral can you get? May as well order some seat covers from Iran and fluffy dice from North Korea while you're at it.

I put a deposit down last week, but found it that Midnight Silver is now the default color (no extra cost). I would prefer. Is there a way to change the color on the order once a VIN is assigned.

Also, what's the latest on the Project Highland revised Model 3? Should I hold off. Key points for me would be price, features and whether it's still eligible for the Federal rebate.
Thank you.

I was told you can cancel and put the 250 towards another order. Just can't get a refund,

Thank you.

There is no latest other than "it's probably coming later this year- with nothing but unconfirmed rumors on features (either adds or deletes), nor date, or price"

That said there's no reason I can imagine it wouldn't qualify for the full federal rebate at least through end of 2023 given every version of both 3 and Y qualify today.

Might not be the case for the non-US battery trims next year, but again there isn't enough info to know that for sure.

The big difference will be HW4. This will include more and better cameras, radar, and more.

I know a lot of folks will say well I'm not going to use Full Self Driving so I don't need HW4, but unless you plan to keep the car forever, resale value will come into play at some point and HW3 will be worth a LOT less.

There is no retrofit to HW4 from HW3

Current HW4 cars actually have fewer cameras- but they're higher resolution ones (they reduced the # of front-facing cams from 3 to 2)

I went through Tesla financing and I got 5.69% with JP Morgan Chase. I will anyway pay it off before the first payment.

Just curious, what is the benefit of getting financing and paying it off before the first payment, compared to paying it off up front?
