"Been tracking this for a while now. It took the longest time to drop this low. I'm hesitant to buy now, because there is a good chance they would expire before 2023 holidays. A lot of winter 2022 holidays chocolates and confectionery at Sam's had an expiry of summer 2023 (Fannie May mint chocolate cookie clusters, Ghirardelli Peppermint chocolate squares, those tin packs of shortbread cookies, etc). The packaging is winter holidays themed, so it can't exactly be given for any other occasion without being obvious it is clearance buy. 60c a cup of hot chocolate in summer months by self isn't exactly the most prudent option either.
Not TC, just sharing my candid thoughts."
And adding now - these bombs are hollow, with no further cocoa powder, sugar, etc, in them, unlike most other such products. Just the tiny content of the shell doesn't yield a flavorful creamy chocolaty cup. Not to mention thin hollow chocolate shells being shipped in the heat of summer.
Copy pasting another comment of mine about the Frankford brand posted there last week:
"I have also been tracking the other brand hot chocolate bombs you mention. I decided to stay away from it because of its disclosure on the package - chocolate made in Belgium, molded and packed in China, marshmallows made in China. This Member's Mark one is made in Netherlands."
Between the 2 of them, I'd probably pick Member's Mark over Frankford. 1. Frankford is partially manufactured and packed in China. 2. Frankford is 1.23oz per bomb, whereas Member's Mark is 1.57oz, total weight being 9.9oz vs 11.1oz. 3. Despite the weight per bomb being 45 vs 35 gram, Member's Mark has 24 grams sugar vs Frankford having 21 grams sugar, effectively higher % (60% vs 53%) coming straight up from sugar, and not cocoa solids.
Hope it helps.

I constantly eat lots of expired foods, smell test is real. In laws have a small store in rural Midwest in the middle of nowhere on a river. Constantly eat stuff that is way past date due to it not selling. The grocery stores all sell expired foods just at a discount without issues. In fact I just ate a chocolate bar that is over 2 years old granted it has been frozen.
