While 2Ah batteries may still be too small in your opinion, don't just think in amp-hours. Think in watt-hours.

An Ego mower at 52V with a 4Ah battery is 208Wh.

The Greenworks at 80V with a 2Ah battery is 160Wh, or 23% less capacity.

Again, the 2Ah may be too small to desire, but think watt-hours for a comparison.
Ya, those 2ah batteries are a deal breaker in my opinion. I have the same exact mower and it came with (1) 4ah battery and I paid around $250/shipped when Amazon ran a deal last year. I'd personally wait for a better deal. The 2ah batteries are fine for edgers or weed trimmers, but not for mowers or blowers.

EDIT: This is also the older model that has since been upgraded with (2) battery banks and a headlight along with being able to fold more easily for storage.
Ouch....2ah batteries?

Limited-time deal: Greenworks Pro 80V 21-Inch Brushless Self-Propelled Lawn Mower 4.0Ah Battery and Charger Included, MO80L410 https://a.co/d/46NoOu1

This might be a better one, for 30$ more getting 1 x 4.0ah battery

I also have this mower and it's definitely a beast, no problem getting through the thickest overgrown grass, and the single lever for height adjustment is very nice, but the mower is also very heavy. Mine came with a single 5ah battery for about $200 at the end of the season last year and that gets through my smallish yard no problem.
I agree the 2ah batteries would be a deal breaker for me.

My 5 y/o Kobalt 80v still gets over 30 minutes on each 2.0 amp battery. Why is this only 15 minutes? Higher torque motor? Mine cuts through my thickest grass with no issues.

2ah batteries won't get you much cut time. The least they could have done was give you a double charger.

I currently have a gas self propelled mower, how heavy is this in comparison.

I have zero problems mowing my average size yard with 2x 2.0Ah batteries. Mow front yard with first battery, stick it on the charger. Mow back yard with second battery. Use fully charged first battery to edge and blow. My point is I have no problem getting 30 minutes of run time on each battery and the rapid charger can fully charge the battery during that time.

Edit: the only thing missing from this model is the self propel feature

The basic unit from 5 years ago was lighter than even a smaller four horsepower gas mower - until you add the battery. Even then I think with a two amp hour battery it is slightly lighter than a smaller gas mower. The new version though is going to have a lighter more powerful and robust motor, unless they use the newer technology as an excuse to actually cut corners.

Everything the one poster said on his experience with two 2 amp batteries. We've had our Kobalt for about 2 years, and we use it to cut our upper 2 acres. After 5 years one of them has slightly shortened runtime, and the other was lost about a third of its charge.

My model cuts through any kind of maintained grass fairly easily. It can even cut through a big clump of pasture fescue, though if you're doing something after 6 months yes you have to slow down a little so the mower doesn't bog down. Then again I've seen those heavy clumps bog down a six and a half horsepower gas mower.

I would go with the four amp hour battery if I know having the heavy battery is not going to cause any problems. So the lawn mower with wheels it won't be a problem, but it will mean that you can't be charging one battery while you're using the other because you only have one.

But I would go with the two amp hour ones for certain if I was going to be using some of the other tools. Well I don't have the four amp hour one I've handled it, and it is roughly twice as heavy. I can tell you on the hedge trimmer The smaller battery makes it nose heavy, and I have some lower back problems and that's a problem for me, though it wouldn't have been 20 years ago. I'm pretty sure the chainsaw is going to be the same, but I haven't actually needed to use it yet. That's my summer project.

With the blower though it's balanced well, and it is a battery pig. I don't use it a lot, but people of complain it can actually drain your battery so quickly that it causes problems. That's possible if it's getting really hot and you have a large area where you use it without pausing for cooling down.

So you mow for 15 minutes. Put that battery on the charger, grab the other one, mow for 15 more. When 2nd battery dies, grab a lawn chair and a beer, enjoy your 15 minute break! First battery charged, throw the 2nd one in, mow for 15 minutes. Rinse and repeat!
What's the problem?? Confused laugh out loud

If you have never used a 2ah on a mower, the last thing you want is to keep going back and forth to get a new battery and recharge. It's annoying especially on hot days.

And to respond to your comment about taking a break and drinking a can. I, like Homer, will finish a case before I finish the yard if I pull that lawn chair out.

I'd pay double (~$600 in store) for the costco 8 year warranty. Plus that one has 2 and 4 amp hour battery.
