THIS IS FAR FROM A GOOD PRICE OR BIKE.
I just bought the canyon for $500 ... amazing and best deal.
to give you an idea of my recent bike purchasing background..i literally just bought a used $1200 carbon c frame only from santa cruz and also another $1500 used superlight from santa cruz. i know the value of good parts and would highly recommend the canyon for $500
this deal barely beats a walmart schwinn. smh mods
for the record, the gt aggressor at $300 is an excellent value. not this $500 one with cheap components you will upgrade soon. might as well get the base one and upgrade yourself.
that avalanche sport at $640 but has microshift and altus derailleurs. LMAO is this a joke? this is definitely waiting for a fool to buy.

canyon is a much better value
i also didn't mean to brag about the bikes i just got, only to show that the canyon had near comparable components to my santa cruz that are worth 5 times the price.
my bike that was stolen had $500 shimano front brakes so im pretty keen on component upgrades and its value as a rider and someone who builds. but dont take my word for it!
bike research is not easy and very technical like learning engineering. the geometry and every angle has to be measured down to a t.
i would suggest investing in learning to build bikes if you want a deeper understanding of the mechanics behind what creates a most efficient bike.
at this price, i can resell it used for the same price if not more. so its a freebie rental.
i also highly suggest buying a used high end bike because they retain their value and you can likely sell it for the same if not higher. like a lambo.
the bikes i have, i will be reselling at a higher price after i am done. the new one will lose value instantly. and down to 50% for santa cruz.

Planned to go local bike shop for Trek Marlin 6, Giant Talon 1 or 2. I only know since friends told me.
Anything I should be aware? I read they were entry level bikes. I like to spend lessthan $800 and get it right from start.
Got few light mountain trails near house and doing once or twice or weekends. Doing mtb for fun and exercise.
Any suggestions?
