Solid Spruce Top
Spruce is the standard tonewood for acoustic guitar tops-few woods can beat its strength, brightness and dynamic range and it responds well to any acoustic playing style, from hard strumming to fast flatpicking or delicate fingerpicking.
Easy-To-Play Neck
With its comfortably rolled fingerboard edges, this instrument's neck creates an incredibly satisfying fret-hand feel that's ideal for beginning players or experienced pros alike.
Fishman Classic Design Preamp And Tuner
A Fishman Classic Design pickup/preamp system adds peerless amplified performance with a variety of onboard controls to your acoustic instrument without compromising its pure, rich and resonant tone. The built-in tuner is conveniently placed right where you can see it.

Personally, I end up playing the acoustic much more these days. It's way easier to pick up and play for a few minutes between work calls and doesn't shake the whole house.

These do not have the balls/dynamics to keep up with a regular guitar and IMO the pizo pickups sound like poo compared to the real magnetic ones in an electric bass guitar.

It scratches the new gear itch, for sure.

Weirdly, it was tuned like a 5 string with the lowest string at B (BEAD instead of EADG), but actually played ok and sounded pretty good like that. But tuned properly, it sounds and plays great. Much more satisfying than playing the electric unplugged.
A note about the setup - it'll take several tunings to get it to hold tune. Don't get frustrated, it'll stick eventually. Aside from this, I made no other setup adjustments. Although I do not have any other acoustic bass guitars, I do have some expensive Martin and Taylor guitars. The original Taylor pickups sound like hot garbage (I have since modified them to sound better). The cheap pickup on this bass sound infinitely better than what I got from Taylor on their acoustic guitars.
You can hear some people playing this DI on YouTube. They are worth watching.
