There was a slick deal for these grinders a few weeks back at $99. They are still available for that price but the red model is an additional $25 off. And subscribe to the newsletter for an additional 10% off

So if you can get past the color this looks like quite a slick deal.

Been using one of these since 2017, it's held up great and have no complaints. Give it a good cleaning once a year and it seems like it's going to last many more years.

I would not use one of these for espresso, unless you are extremely desperate.

I agree it's a decent grinder, a good buy at this price. Normal price is a little too close to the sale price of a refurbished Baratza Encore, but at this sale price I would recommend it. I've had mine for about 2 years, BTW. My only complaint is that I was hoping to use the built-in timer as a way to easily control the dosage without having to use a scale, but that failed miserably. Otherwise it's great.

As a tip: the Tablecraft H-159 stainless steel dredge (https://www.amazon.com/TableCraft...00ATJJQ7U) is apparently a perfect fit as a metal replacement for the grounds catcher cup in case the included glass cup breaks (it's kinda fragile) or you dont'want to deal with static.

Had one of these for years, still using it.

At some point it just stopped feeding beans. Burr was wore out and it was very difficult to find a replacement burr.

Consider this a throwaway imo. Lucky if you can obtain a replacement burr.

Just a random thought/question: do glass catchers help with static cling of the grounds/grind?

I used one of these for close to 10 years. I recently switched it out for a Baratza Encore I picked up at Home Goods for $99. The Bodum is loud. Like, loud, loud, compared to the Encore. It throws a decent amount of static chaff as well. Decent grid but slightly inconsistent. The matte rubber body also started to get sticky (e.g. I could leave finger prints in the rubber) after a number of years. One other complaint is that if you do coarsw grinds for French press, the hopper would often rattle itself out of alignment and unseat and cause the grinder to auto stop. I have no qualms about getting the Baratza as a replacement.

No clue but it's' glass. Most metals (except Titanium) are not dishwasher safe & plastic feels cheap.

Is this the boo boo one with the bad reviews on Amazon or the other one? 🤔

Doesn't static electricity happen when the air is too dry? Bro, maybe your kitchen is too dry? 🤔

(put a drop of water before grinding 😉)

I've heard of a similar solution (spritzing water over the beans before grinding). A friend says it works for him, but I have yet to try it myself Smilie

When it's dry this thing has pretty bad static issue. So I'm guessing the answer is no.

Bought two of these years ago and the rubber coating became all sticky and nasty. I cleaned up one of them with acetone. Took that nasty coating right off... plus all the markings that I didn't want to come off... but it's still working... but it hasn't been heavily used every year.

Actually, most metal utensils and pans are dishwasher safe, except aluminum and knives.

Did a little research and discovered the grinder rabbit hole is DEEP. So, question is, how anal are you about your coffee?

Conical burrs is a plus.

I picked up a used baratza encore for$80, easy enough to take apart for a good cleaning.

I read about the water spritz when I got a Capresso Infinity. But if you wait 30 seconds the static goes away, so the water is entirely unnecessary.
