Bonded leather always starts falling apart

"Multi-way 3D Insight lumbar zone" wears down and falls apart after a while. I fixed mine with guerilla glue but I shouldn't have had to. The rubber they coated some metal plate with takes all the load at the joining point and cracks.

Anyone uses this chair for with from home (8 hours plus)? My current seat hurts my back and looking for replacement
Get a mesh chair. It cost more, but well worth it if you set for long periods of time for work. I've had several "gaming chairs" and they were all about the same (seems like they all use the same bad design) and they became very uncomfortable after a while. Finally broke down and got a mesh chair. That was one great decision for my back.

Agreed. I got mine about a year ago and still love it. I have a hybrid job so it gets about 2 full days a week and it's held up fine. I'm also a bigger guy but not overweight at 6'2 215 lbs

If they showed a fat couple sitting on this, it would sell out.

I know it's necessary for most jobs nowadays, but your back hurts from 8 hours plus sitting, chair can help but try to work standing or go walking often to split the time up.

everyone will have different preferences. glad to hear some have good experiences, but my friend bought one and was very unimpressed by it.

i tend to shy away from these 'gamer' chairs as they tend to focus more on aesthetics given the price. i personally prefer mesh chairs (personally using a workpro quantum 9000), but yeah i recommend something with lumbar support if you're having back issues.

when it comes to work chairs that you sit in for a long time, i'm a believer that you should get the best one you can afford. it's not worth the additional medical costs down the road if your problems get worse due to using a crappy chair, not to mention the actual physical discomfort/pain you'll be dealing with for the rest of your life.

When COVID started and we were moved to working from home, my company sent me a chair like this: https://www.amazon.com/Office-Sta...B01D303PVE [amazon.com]

Not this exact one, but that style with mesh instead of fake leather. They look sort of wacky/futuristic but this style has been great for my back. For me, the use of the tough mesh material allows it to support my back in places the padded leather chairs weren't.

I've since gotten another chair of this style for the office. Try one out maybe and see, return it if it doesn't work out. Your back isn't something you want to be uncomfortable.
Don't tell me your company sent you an Aeron...

i agree that taking care of your body, strengthening your back, etc. is the best method, but we're just talking chairs here. they can't just move around to make up for sitting in a bad chair.

review [youtube.com] by a chiropractor Smilie - lots of complaint about chair feeling really good initially then failing after 8-12 months.

about 20 years ago the place I work bought several hundred Aeron chairs. The majority of them are still in use. Well, they were before 99% of the people started teleworking the majority of the time.

I bought a 2nd hand Aeron chair for my home office about 5 years ago because I loved my work chair so much.

I wanted to get another Aeron for my eldest a few years ago but the wife wanted a new chair. So I turned it over to her and she spent $150 on something from Amazon. He wore out the arm rests within 18 months to where something sharp was poking his elbow.

I found a really nice Steelcase chair (unsure of which model) on Marketplace for a great price and between that and the cheapo chair, we could have had a 2nd hand Aeron first.

It is probably cheaper in store and you can test it out to see if it works for you, just a suggestion for those on the fence.

If you are using this for WFH or more than 5+ hrs a day. Then this is a bad choice. I return this after using couple of months. You will easily get back pain with this chair. Shoulder part is kind curved so that you wont rest your back side completely and the arms holder will worn off easily and quickly.

This has held up well for me, I think I've had it about a year? Really comfy. Haven't had my back rest or any other parts fall apart yet *shrug*
