Bonded leather always starts falling apart

"Multi-way 3D Insight lumbar zone" wears down and falls apart after a while. I fixed mine with guerilla glue but I shouldn't have had to. The rubber they coated some metal plate with takes all the load at the joining point and cracks.

Yes and it has been great, if you want to spend more look at steelcase (be prepared for the sticker shock even though they are worth it) but for $150 this has been a great WFH chair.

I remember, buying a DPS chair from Costco a couple of years back, but those were real leather for $125 ... Costs have gone up... Bonded leather falls apart in 5 years time... so anyone looking for a 5 year or less timeframe, this would work out fine.

Hmm thanks for the return info. I was curious about Costco chairs and sit there time to time and wondering if it is worth to buy and worried about returns if fails. I have a back issue so trying to find something good but can't afford those rent price chairs. Haha

Anyone can comment on the other 2 pricier DPS chairs from costco? $239 https://www.costco.com/.product.1697505.html or $219 https://www.costco.com/.product.4000102927.html both seem to have fabric instead of PU and seat cushion "looks" thicker than OP. Still, the price seems on par with the $200+ amazon gaming chairs, just wondering if it is a little better quality?

Bonded leather assures you that you'll be buying a new one in a few years, Planned obsolescence being kept in mind Costco does have that return policy... I bought a sofa and loveseat with bonded leather, never used the sofa, bonded leather started coming apart on the love seat after a few years so I ditched it and started using the sofa. The sofa started having the bonded leather fall apart in a matter of weeks and I am convinced the bonding agent they use is intended to have a service life of just over the warranty period. It's no surprise these furniture brands pop up and disappear so frequently.

If you are baller status and want an absolutely amazing office chair made to last decades check out Ekornes/Stressless [stressless.com] Match it up with one of these desks with a built in custom computer [lian-li.com] and you'll be set up fairly nicely.
