But I haven't been since COVID, and I've heard that traveling throughout China is still somewhat difficult due to COVID-related restrictions. Limited flights and trains, risk of quarantine, mask requirements, etc. I think it'd be worth talking to someone who has traveled there recently before booking.
1. While you, your wife and kids are enjoying yourselves, just a maybe a few feet from you is a place where they took the Uyghur kids they took from their parents and are re-educating them , totally erading their cultural background. Yeah, it's just western propaganda it never happened. Your kids are safe.
2. You can freely move around, just ignore the hundreds of thousands of cameras watching your every move. Pick your nose at your own risk.
3. Just ignore your governments warning not to travel there but please don't cry and burden our government to help free you. Take responsibility for your own action.
4. If the 2 riches country joins together to promote their tourism, just think maybe there's a reason why. People don't go there because they are AFRAID. Don't be a brave stupid ass#@%&.
5. There are 195 countries , there are better choices to visit. Just avoid the oppressive ones. It just emboldens them.
Well that's my 2 cents.
even it is still in a state of civil war, civilian should has freedom to migrate and choose side

Safest country in the world unless you disagree with politics , Xi Jinping and his puppets.
Currently, their flagship Airline called China Airlines, people's passport printed with "China" in the first line in Chinese, and second line in English with China. Don't be nut if you don't know...
I used to think Slickdealers were very logical and prudent people. When I grew it I realized that a good portion of them are just batsht nuts lmao.
- Saudia is a state-owned airline, but if you ever get "detained" for whatever reason in Saudi during layover, as an American citizen you do have a higher chance of being able to get out as we have a better relation with the Saudis. If you are a woman traveling alone or someone not very culturally attuned, definitely take caution in Saudi and best not to wondering around or converse with the locals.
- China, unless you really need to be there, I'd stay away for now. There have been many cases of being detained and they DGAF if you're a US citizen. They can detain you with very little to no reason for political reasons. I understand if you have family there or need to conduct business, but for pure tourism, now is not an ideal time.

Note: this is the second highest travel advisory, below Level 4 "Do Not Travel" for Russia, Iran, etc.
In terms of people from PRC living in ROC, they can live in ROC, but ROC will never give them "citizenship", it's more like a green card and they can never vote. As far as I know, a citizen of PRC living in Taiwan won't affect anything he/she has as a PRC citizen.
