The only thing taken off is the delivery fee. They add 1 or 2 dollars to each menu item to make up for that. And they still have service charges. So basically this membership thing is a lie. It provides no real form of discount.

I received an email stating I have another year without having to do anything on my part. Now to reset my cancel date to 07/2024.

They advertise you can save with GrubHub Plus but it's still more expensive than just ordering directly from the eatery directly... so not a ton of value here.

Seems like it doesn't work with Apple ID login. The promo link only goes to a webpage, so I can't log in using Apple ID like I do for Grubhub app.

Ok, so I don't know if I found a glitch or what but I literally cancelled my Grubhub+ membership Saturday because I saw I'd have to start paying for it soon and didn't want to forget. Then the email comes yesterday and I reactivate it. Now my membership is showing a free trial of Grubhub+ till June 5, 2025; so a 2 year extension for me. Maybe it's going to update later but worth a try to see if it'll happen to anyone else, I guess?

If you have prime that may have been what triggered it

That's hilarious. Not surprisingly I have noticed that my coworkers that get food delivered are usually the ones that can least afford it and are always complaining about never having enough money for bills, rent, etc.
Oh god I still remember a popular reddit thread where someone (who had to have been fairly new to the workforce) was complaining about how expensive it is to eat out for lunch everyday and asking people how they afford to eat lunch because it was costing them $15-30 a day to go out or Uber eats their lunch every day, which was 1/4 of their daily pay.

Naturally everyone was responding with the obvious "Uh, you bring lunch from home..." but OP wasn't having any of that because they explained that refused to take a packed lunch to work because they "aren't some school kid". Also when someone suggested they meal plan on Sunday, the response was "I can't afford to spend the ENTIRE DAY on Sunday prepping my lunches for the week". Besides, they "wanted to eat something good and different every day for lunch."

The whole thing was so out of touch and made me feel old because it was my first legitimate "kids these days" moments.

Skimmed through the posts and didn't see my answer. How do I sign in on the GH website? And more importantly, on the app?

Had the 1 free year previously but never received an extension email from grubhub. Was due to expire next month. I canceled the grubhub membership, used the grubhub trial link on the Amazon and now have 2 more years free.... WINNING!
LOSING if you actually use it though. Just don't be surprised if you see a credit card charge in 2 years and 1 month for $9.99.

Yeah, I think there are several factors at play here in the finances of millennials. First, they haven't truly experienced a deep recession yet. Anyone over 40 has at least experienced the housing crisis and the dot com bubble disaster. All these kids experienced was the government handing out tons of free checks during Covid. Second, many kids are coming from parents that are successful and don't generally worry as much about money anymore after years of saving. Their kids don't understand what it took for their parents to get there. Yeah, I sound like an old fart but honestly I think I'm spot on.

Has anyone who already received the 1 year extension email been brave enough to try cancelling to see if the 2 year offer appears/works? I see some people have seemingly cancelled before the extension email arrived, but not sure about those who had already received the email.

Does anyone receive GH coupons? I never have. In my experience, the never-ending UberEats 40% off coupon always makes UberEats cheaper than GH. Even with the "free" membership.
What and where is this 40% off coupon in which you speak??

What, what? It's cheaper to order direct rather than use a third-party service? /s

Of course it's more expensive ordering through GrubHub, that's how they make money, right? They're saying that GrubHub+ lands you a discount on your order vs. just regular GrubHub. And it's true, I just checked and on a teriyaki combo from my local joint I'd be saving a whole 54 cents!!! Woot! I'd likely never pay for GrubHub+, but getting the membership for free is slick.
