I was able to root the Moto G Stylus 5g 2022 from Boost. I don't see why this one shouldn't be rootable. You will have to wait 3 days after you connect to wifi during set up before OEM unlock option is available in developer settings, then you can follow a generic rooting guide.

Nice that they've already dropped the price this much. Maybe I'll get it when it gets to 200, but idk about the curved screen. Currently on 2022 version (locked until Feb). 2022 is fine but it does have some annoying flaws. One is that it doesn't actually do 15W Qi charging. It charges at 15W for 3 minutes then drops to 5W.

Why not paying $3 to get it unlocked?

OLED is the problem since it has PWM flicker on most phones.

Motorola has the least flicker issue compared to other Android makers (Samsung, OnePlus) according to review: https://www.androidcentral.com/ph...023-review

Why not paying $3 to get it unlocked?
2 Reasons:

1. I don't intend to use a service other than Boost. It works well, it's cheap, it's got just enough data, and despite some problems accessing their BoostOne app I haven't had problems with this phone and service. I did have a problem with the unlocked Moto Z4 that I brought as a BYOD initially, it couldn't send MMS consistently. That's why I got the Edge+ 2022 to see if getting a phone straight from them would work better, and it did.

According to this they may not allow you to get or stay activated on their service if you unlock:

https://www.boostmobile.com/suppo...ing-policy

"Please note, Boost devices which the owner has attempted to reprogram or activate on another carrier's network or otherwise alter from its initial programming or settings may not be able to be reactivated with Boost services."

2. According to their terms and conditions they can come after you for unlocking it. Is it possible you could skate by unnoticed? Yes, sounds like some have so far, but I've got no reason to do it.

https://www.boostmobile.com/suppo...conditions

Any tampering with, reprogramming, reflashing, or unlocking of this Device without Boost Mobile's permission violates Boost Mobile's and third parties' rights under state and federal laws and could subject you to civil or criminal liability.

I just posted a similar deal but on Project Genesis.
Genesis is $25 a month for True unlimited.
More of a "beta" network than Boost though.

Boost Mobile on the Motorola website shows not supported which leads me to think this is a carrier-specific model which means band support and ROM compatibility may vary.

Their terms cover that for legality but they won't come after you unless you are doing illegal activities like cloning IMEIs. Unlocking the bootloader and flashing custom firmware may allow you to bypass specific restrictions like tethering limits but ultimately they aren't going to come after you or your device personally, they just terminate your service. Chances are they won't care unless there's a financial impact.
