In case anyone wants an easier way to do this, best buy online price matched the cost of the device plus a month of service. $440 before tax, pick up in store tomorrow, factory unlocked

Sadly no luck, they refused to price match Boost, and wouldn't tell me a reason. Ah well.

I have the 2022, not a great phone. Needs to reboot after turning on and off wifi. Must turn off wifi for "internet calling" (which makes no sense). Sometimes just wont even receive calls. Fingerprint sensor stopped working (settings don't even exist in settings anymore) after about 2 months.

Main camera looks like you smashed a potato into the lens if you try to zoom at all. But it also takes 8k video? Tried that and halfway through the video, reset entirely and didn't capture the video.

I know all phones have quirks, but this one has been a nightmare. I was lured in by the low price point and "awesome" specs. Somehow performs worse than my Pixel5... 🤷🏻 Hopefully they fixed it in 2023, but I'm taking my money elsewhere...

edit: took another poster's advice and even though I factory reset multiple times, made sure firmware was up to date, and reached out to moto for support, the REAL way to make it work well is to just pull your head out of your ass! Who knew?! I should have tried that first... my bad!

Good for you if this phone works well. I'm not changing my post so at least people know what they might be getting in to. Sucks to suck.

Also, I LOVE the 2023, I'm ordering the 2024 NOW!
Well, if finger sensor it's not working and cannot receive calls after reset, contact moto for support/replacement.
I have a cheap 2021 edge and initially I thought that hotspot it is not working as expected (creates hotspot but it does not provide connectivity to www) when I was using my amazon fire hd 10. Everything else was working but I contacted Moto and they agreed to get my device to look into. I noted my serial #.
Soon they send me another like new device, clearly not mine!
Same thing, my amazon fire hd10 does not access www through its hotspot.
I gave up and kept the phone. Still having it today, nothing fancy about it, but it gets the job done, decent photos, battery, updates... and I discovered that hotspot works just fine with other phones or my laptop.
A while back, on amazon I read this about their fire hd 10 under wifi connectivity: "Does not support connecting to ad-hoc (or peer-to-peer) wifi networks."
So what I'm saying is this: if you was unlucky to get a dud, get a replacement, it's easy!
Also, it's easier to crap on this thread and others, no one will give a $***

They gave me every reason they possibly could but all of them were not actually correct to their own policy. It's obvious Best Buy trains the people in the Price Match department to reject as many PM requests as possible. It's sad when they actually lie about their own policy after linking you directly to it. There is a single valid reason they could use to reject the price match to a prepaid cellular carrier with local stock availability per their own policy as it has been for years and I guarantee no one who works at best buy currently has any idea what that is. It's fine to deny it, but at least don't lie about the reason and then try to find multiple other invalid reasons when each one is shown to be invalid with direct quotes from the policy.

The 2022 Edge+ was flat display. It's a shame they went back to curved again, but they do make the nicest curved display though.

Great price although I can't find unlock code for it yet.
This is a small detail but I love that the 2022 Edge+ has a flat screen. The fingerprint sensor is also very fast, accurate, and well-placed, which is basically the opposite of the last Samsung I had (I loved when LG put it on the back - a perfectly natural spot for me). The specs are great on that phone but I've replaced it after just a couple weeks of use because it kept losing the GPS signal and it takes forever to switch from wifi to mobile data. I love my new Oneplus 11 so far, and it's what I really wanted anyway, but I sure wish it had a flat screen like the Edge+. There's no benefit to these silly curved screens, they cause glare, and they don't play as nice with screen protectors and cases. I don't know why most manufacturers think their flagships need to have stupid curved screen edges. I'm disappointed that the Edge+ didn't work out for me, especially because it was relatively cheap and had 512gb of space for my music library, but there's some definite appeal there, and the 2023 incarnation looks good, aside from the curved screen.

That's what I did - Boost Mobile 2022 Edge+ for $200, 1 month service for $40, and e bay carrier unlock for $4 or whatever so I could use it with my carrier. Stuff like this always seems a little shady but it worked fine for me and only took like 15 minutes to get the code.

Interesting. I was considering getting that for $200 plus $40 plus $4 but if there is GPS issues that's cause for concern

I don't know if that was just me or mine, so don't let my one data point dissuade you, but I found it maddening. It seemed like a great deal but there were just a few things with the Edge+ that didn't sit well with me, personally.

Yeah, I really wanted to like it, especially for that price and the hardware specs, but the right move for me was to just pony up for a top-end phone like I wanted to do from the start. I was only counting on it as a stop gap because my S10 5G was not charging consistently anymore. Lesson learned.

Yes. I'm the same. I would love to have a $750 device for 200. But I think truthfully I probably wouldn't use all the nice features of it to begin with. In all reality. The a54 is probably plenty enough for me. Plus I don't really like the large screen size phone. I think six inches or upto 6.4 is ideal. 6.7 or 6.8 is just too big
