With the 13th gen proc?
Yes, with 13th gen processor. It was the memorial week sale, ended Sunday night. Not sure why none of those ended up posted on here, but the Best Buy "open box" models for the same or more $ than HP.com was selling them for new ended up posted by the good Dr...

I was considering this or the Envy X360.... I ended up getting the Envy 360 new with 13th gen i5 for $636. Yes, you cant repeat the past 2 week's deal after a sale ends but I think its a shame that brand new product deals don't show up and people end up taking open box returns for more $ 2 days later.

How do you like the envy so far? What is battery life? Metal body and lid?

You cannot add RAM to this model and I don't know why you need more than 16 GB of RAM for an office model laptop, there's no high-end GPU here. They had this deal 2 years ago and 3 years ago I bought one every time they're on sale open box and I love these laptops they're usually around 2.2 lb.
It weighs three pounds.

Oh damn! You should have posted that deal from HP.com.
These opened box from BestBuy usually not available around my area.

PCMag.com and techradar.com both posted the deal as a 12th generation Intel i5 with 8GB of ram for $800/$850.

I had an earlier model and it would completely freeze up. It was a known issue and HP couldn't figure it out. I sold it for a loss.

Does anyone know why the editors here list a bunch of specifications, including the Bluetooth version number, the specific type of RAM, and a detailed description of every port, but consistently fail to include the laptop's weight?
For some of us, a laptop's weight is one of its most important factors. This laptop sounded great until I learned that it weighs over 3 pounds. (Although just barely -- 3.01 lbs according to the Best Buy listing.)

Between your browser and Windows 11, multitasking begins to become a problem at 16gb in my experience. Debloating helps somewhat but the extent to which you needed to was not as severe on Win10, all other things being equal.

Do these still have the design flaw where the gasket around the screen doesn't actually make contact with the keyboard deck (rendering it pointless), which lead to display scratches? I remember noticing it a few years ago on a Best Buy model.

That is in fact a normal weight for a 2-in-1 though, even for a premium one without a dGPU. It isn't actually much heavier than the Asus Flow you mentioned (which is 2.87lbs, not 2.83, which puts the weight difference at less than 5% between the two); meanwhile, that machine costs *significantly* more than the HP does new ($1499 vs $1999), and not all of that is going toward components, but also materials. That similar laptops are slightly heavier or lighter just means there's a range, and that the highest end skus out there might be a bit lighter doesn't automatically make the HP somehow 'not premium'.

In this case specifically, I would guess that the 3:2 aspect ratio results in a device with a larger footprint, too, which will make things heavier all things being equal (but will also result in a much more usable touchscreen in portrait mode)
