Lenovo seems like a much better deal. Higher clock RAM, 90 hz screen, current gen processor on the Lenovo... Makes this laptop deal look pretty un-slick.
Is the 12700H not technically still more powerful than the 7735HS even if it's a bit older? At least when googling some benchmarks. Lenovo has GPU though.

Intel vs AMD, smaller lower resolution display and no stylus and no 2-in-1. These are apples and oranges. The HP is the better deal for sure if you want 2-in-1.

You order open box online? What's the chances of getting a product with an issue?
Just picked up an open box 13.5" Spectre OLED one from best buy. Price is $875.00 for "excellent condition". Missing the pen and also fan is insanely loud. I have 2 of these machines(older ones), none of them are this noisy. Returning this tomorrow and trying my luck one more time with another open box machine

Pretty high. Bought an open-box MacBook Pro last month (shipped) and it came with the previous owners information still on it. Instant return. BestBuy didn't even touch it before reselling it.

Why instant return? Why not just format and reinstall OS? They may have just returned it because they got a better deal elsewhere.

With all due respect, I don't understand why some of you are hellbent on comparing apples to oranges. It just shows that you are not aware of your own needs to begin with.
This Spectre is a convertible and falls in the premium lineup of HP laptops while the Lenovo is clamshell laptop. Both have entirely different display sizes. 16" vs 14" on Lenovo The build quality of Spectre is far superior than Lenovo. The dGPU on the Lenovo shows it's meant for creator work and other graphic intensive uses while this Spectre is not.
Both are entirely different and the choice totally depends on what YOU want. Narrow it down to the display size and your need, and you would automatically select one of these.

Because if Activation Lock is enabled (Find My feature is ON normally) then I cannot use my AppleID on it. It's a feature to keep people from stealing MacBooks and setting them up themselves.
It is absolutely on BestBuy for not checking that since it is one of the terms of trading in your MacBook (signed out of AppleID and "Find My" disabled).
I wound up getting BestBuy to price-match Amazon (who were having a sale) and got a brand new one for the same price. It was for a client, not myself, as I got the $1500 MBP 16 deal from Costco.
Activation Lock for Mac
Activation Lock is designed to prevent others from using your Mac if it's lost or stolen.
Activation Lock helps keep your Mac secure, even if it's lost or stolen, and can improve your chances of recovering it. With Activation Lock, your Apple ID password or device passcode is required before anyone can turn off Find My, erase your Mac, or reactivate and use your Mac. Even if you erase your Mac remotely, Activation Lock can continue to deter others from reactivating your Mac without your permission. All you need to do is keep Find My turned on and remember your Apple ID and password.
