I just don't understand how people can justify spending 300 dollars more for just 200 gigs more of storage. When the base model was on sale not too long ago
I have the M1 Air 8GB (and multiple friends with similar) and have never needed additional ram. Honestly...I would recommend getting the original M1 Air as it's a great computer and I see no need for the M2 outside of professionals.
There's an abundant amount of tests and videos out there showing how well 8GB of RAM performs using common everyday tasks for most people. Even using 100+ browser tabs, etc. with 10+ applications open and going, there's not an issue. M chip and 8GB handles it like a champ.
But certainly going back a couple years on numerous SD threads, this continues to be debated on whether the average person needs 8GB or 16GB with M chips. Somehow the crowd who subscribes to the 16GB camp seems to drown out the 8GB more than enough for common user, crowd. 🤷 ♂️

The fact that people are letting apple charge them for the same specs as the m1 few years ago is beyond me.
We can agree to disagree but 8GB is more than enough for most MAC users,
I also bought it for $750 on a Best Buy student promo (no verification required) and I can sell it, used in good condition, for $600 on Swappa instantly. I'm sorry, but if you can't see why that isn't a great use case and value, you're blinded by fanboyism.
