I'm pretty happy with them given their cost and build quality. I will agree the sensor to turn on/off and change dimming with your hand is a bit finicky, but for me it wasn't a deal breaker. The key is you wave the palm or top of your hand roughly <3" from the sensor to get it to work. Sometimes I would find myself carelessly waving my hand too far from sensor and it doesn't pick it up.
However, it is really responsive if you get within that range. Like just now I waved my hand with it like a half second under the sensor and pulled my hand away and it turned on/off, but again I was within 3" of the sensor.

- If you can hard wire, useGE Enbrighten [amazon.com] with a Lutron motion sensor light switch. It is the top the line with lots of controls (color temp, dim etc). Compared to the contractor cost, the hardware is nothing.
- If you need to use a power adapter, go cheap and light weight like this one [amazon.com]. Pair with a motion plug [amazon.com].
