The Moto Edge+ 2023 was just released for $799.99.

You need to sign up for the monthly plan at $25/month. This plan is on Dish Network's brand new 5G network, plus acts as an MVNO on AT&T and T-Mobile's networks. This is a TRUE unlimited data, with NO throttling.

Here is a link to the FAQ [genesis5g.com].

Note, you need to enter your Zip Code and Email to check service availability in your area before adding phone to cart

Specs:
Processor: Qualcomm SM8550-AB Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (4 nm)
Display: 6.6" 1080x2400 165Hz OLED
RAM: 8GB
Storage: 512GB
Operating system: Android 13

PC Magazine: "The Moto Edge+ packs snappy performance, above-average cameras, and excellent battery life into an appealing $800 package. The Edge trounces the Pixel 7 Pro in raw power, produces clearer shots than the OnePlus 11 5G, and far outlasts the Galaxy S23 when it comes to battery life and charging speeds."

the boost mobile deal is just as good if not better than this no name locked phone
I agree they are similar. I find Genesis to be better though, but I hear both sides.

I'm lost.
Isn't the boost mobile deal for the same phone? I thought it too was locked to boost for 12 months
Boost infinite right? Isn't that just AT&T?
Doesn't the Genesis stuff use Dish, and AT&T and T-Mobile?

Am I missing a deal post somewhere?

This is like Google Fi but with larger carriers and own network. Hesitant about dish security after recent hack.
yeah i was thinking the same thing. google should have done something like this for google fi.
the real question is if the network priority on att and t mobile's side will be deprioritized and how bad the ping will be.

Boost is a better deal if you are only after the phone: available throughout the USA, $15 plan for 1 month, $25 cashback, and $7 unlock code. All of this is clearly outlined in the thread, and a SDer made a youtube video on getting the $15 plan.

Will this phone work properly on other networks after unlock?

The motorola edge+, 2023 certified specifically for our network.

That's a standard locked statement.
12 months for unlock is extremely high. GoogleFi is already unlocked, T-Mobile 40 days; AT&T 60 days; Verizon and all it's MVNOs Tracfone, Visible, Spectrum, etc. 60 days; Cricket 6 months; and Metro 6 months. And at most of these carriers you don't need service for unlock, just activation. I'm aware of only Mint, Boost, and Dish taking 12 months for unlock.

Yup. Jumped on this boost deal when I saw it. Its half price of what I paid at best buy (Unlocked). I never got around to opening it and was still in the return window. I got a code from the online auction site and plan to unlock it day one. Cancel the subscription and pop in my Spectrum sim. If all goes well it'll be up and running tomorrow.

I assume the phone is locked? But locked to what network? Boost or does Project Genesis have its own network lock?

Also can you please look at some example FP phone deals so you can post just the relevant information. A good post clearly and concisely shows 1. what you get 2. what it costs up front 3. recurring costs 4. notes
project genesis is republic wireless by dish network. Its the new name for their plans that include 5G service. I was with them from 2013 to 2023 on a prepaid plan. It was OK for the money paid. But trying to keep my number when I went to AT&T was a pain. No one from customer service would answer so I couldn't get a port out pin to keep my number and then dish was hacked so their customer service was down fdor about a week. You can bring your own phone and most will work fine but might not be fully supported.I always used moto G phones and while not officially approved they always worked fine.

Next frontier is leveraging low orbit satellite for data usage. No cell site on land needed. Dish is right to claim a piece of the market. Big carriers will be scrambling to find satellite partners and leverage international synergy.
