I've had mine for a while now. Use a gutter mount that I bought separately on amazon that works with this camera, even though its not officially supported. I was worried the heavy camera would be too much for the mount, but it's been working for over a year. No issues during hurricanes and hail storms that I went thru here in central Florida. Have it mounted to view my car when parked on the driveway. Also comes in handy to see if there's anyone or something outside. I tend to have bears roam thru the community during garbage pickup days.

Any other power options for these? I would like to mount under an overhang where there isn't much, if any, direct sunlight.

I always wondered about gun owners. How do you sleep at night?

What makes you think you will be armed and ready if someone breaks in?

Do you have a really loud alarm system or some version of the motion chime at the asian delis when your patio or front door opens?
The vast majority of burglars don't pick locks, they break windows. Broken windows are loud and unless the window they're breaking is in your bedroom or they know the layout of your house and run straight there, you're going to have time to retrieve a gun.

What exactly is your plan if someone breaks into your house? I lived in a wealthy area of Los Angeles and there were still frequent break-ins in my neighborhood. Not one person who called 911 ever had the police arrive quicker than an hour later and that's if they got through to an operator in the first place. Sometimes 911 just doesn't answer or auto forwards you to the non-emergency 311 line to leave a message. You're literally on your own to protect yourself and your family.

My camera systems are very silent... Only get alerts to my phone.

Unfortunately my wife is not a dog person. And anyway my English bulldog who passed away was a very sound sleeper. She wouldn't notice anyone breaking in.

What system do you use that gives you reliable alerts? Do you get woken up by a lot of false alarms?
Just wanted to give you some advice and my current set up. I have several if the Eufy 2k pan and tilt camera set up around the house. One outside covers the whole driveway area another my front porch(behind window no IR light) and I have a Eufy solocam L40 right above my door for 2 way communication. I have two downstairs that cover my kitchen and living room and another covering my garage and one covering the back yard. I usually get notifications from these cameras within 2-3 seconds of something being detected. One note is that I ditched my comcast x-fi router for a triple antenna Asus router and i have had way less connection and stability issues with my wifi cameras.

I also have a ring alarm system with door/window and motion sensors. I also have an amazon echo in my bedroom. You can actually set a routine with the echo and camera system. For example, after 10pm whenever any motion is detected with any of my camera's my echo with notify me by saying "motion detected front door" I also set it to turn on my bedroom light which i have connected with a tp link spart plug. I think this is a great system especially if you don't think you would notice something on your own or don't have dogs to alert you. Some of the pan and tilt cams can be bought for $40 often on sale and an echo dot is like $10 or less I've bought several for the $1 deal with amazon music for one month.

Hope this helps!

I hadn't thought of setting my cams up with my echo for more vocal alerts. Good advice. Thank you

Yeah LA is bad. My cousin lives in Bel Air and exactly as you said. Things happen including sticks ups in her neighbors driveway.

I live in a safer part of the country with less riff raff and a more reliable police force. I always wondered why LA had so few cops for such a large city. NYC metro we are used to having a reliable police force.

Just need to have a plan beforehand based on different scenarios and your individual floorplan. I have plans based on having 5, 10, and 60+ seconds notice from waking in my bed. If necessary I have a locked firearm accessible and ready to rock in 5 seconds.

Warranty is pretty good. I just replaced a S40 with the solar part peeling around the edges after 10 months of usage. Called Eufy customer service and they sent me a refurb so I called and asked for a new replacement. They obliged but indicated that new policy for warranty replacement for new would only happen within 3 months and anytime after will get refurb.

I have one. It works fine but without a Homebase , its a hell to connect to it if you're not home.

Thanks for the input. Can you share more detail on the cam/floodlight model, customer suppport history, etc? Trying to put a score on these guys in a world of underperforming companies.
A simple google search will tell you everything to know about how shoddy eufy is. Bought their homebase 2 stuff doorbells and 2k cameras and will not buy them again ever from broken undelivered promises.

They have over promised/under delivered for many many years. Nothing has changed.

I still use their indoor cams for HKSV outside but never count on them to deliver a feature at a later date. Buy it for its current features or else you will end up disappointed.
As the owner of a 3 year old Unifi Dream Machine, 2 Eufy flood cams, 2 Eufy doorbells, and several Eufy cameras, all of which lack features that were promised at purchase, I think Eufy and Ubiquiti should merge into a single over-promising under-delivering company. They could call it EUFUQUITY.

Pretty good? That seems pretty bad to me.
