Small but still designed to look like a gas car with too much high blocky hood length and almost no frunk utilization.
Polestar and Volvo could step away from traditional gas car design language. For this car you have a pointless for function long hood. You suffer inside because of that misplaced priority with the unnecessary limitation of back seat legroom and less wheelbase. An MG4 is the car to compare for current design of an ev. Good rear legroom. It's got a 2705mm wheelbase vs. 2650mm for this Volvo. 2 inches right there. 4287mm length vs. 4233mm for the EX30. The difference shows in the back door dimension.

Still not too late to cancel your Model 3 order if you FOMO'd into that. This Volvo is worth the wait and wipes the floor of Tesla for less money with much better quality.

I feel like there could be a bait and switch situation with this. I cannot find the exact details of what to expect with the base trim that has the MSRP of 35k. Does it come with the all glass sunroof, the soundbar etc.
Polestar sells upgrade packs, like Plus Pack for $4k if you want wireless charging.

FWIW, warranty claim rates as a % of sales show 2.9% for Volvo last 2 years of available data (2020 and 2021) and for Tesla it's 1.1% both years

So Volvos need warranty work nearly 3 times more often than Teslas.

Granted those are mostly gasoline Volvos, so I'd HOPE they get better.
Tesla also uses shady tactics when performing warranty work by claiming the fixes are complimentary repairs instead of warranty work. My Model 3 HVAC system failed and Tesla claimed it could not replicate the reported issue, but replaced the computer anyways. The A/C did not work and there was no question that the issue was present. I also know of several other Tesla owners who have had the same experience with other service centers, lending credence to this being a Tesla standard operating model to reduce their warranty numbers and increase their quality ratings.

Wipes the floor? The range is really bad compared to a Model 3 LR. I don't get why EV companies are coming out with these EV vehicles with such poor range. I guess if you only charge at home, but non Tesla chargers are horrible in the US right now and I would only buy a Tesla until the non Tesla charging network vastly improves in number of stations and reliability.
Pretty much about greater than 90% of ev drivers charge at home. I would go as far to say if you are buying an ev and not charging at home, you are nuts (exception: you have a Tesla with lifetime free supercharging and you live in california). I would also say most people who don't live in one of the few "green" states have a gas car in their household for their roadtrips, so they don't really care about the charging network. This issue is overblown.

And frankly I am getting sick of these non-deal PSA in Hot Deals. Mods really gotta do something about this or I am just gonna post every single new car in a different post just to get their attention.

It's Tesla or nothing. Forget this trash
Unfortunately, most people have this same mentality. I just moved from a Model S to a real luxury EV and it is night and day in fit, finish, quality, comfort, and range when it comes to advertised vs real (Tesla falsely exaggerates their range while my new EV underestimates their range.) I liked my Tesla for what it was for the most part but I am never looking back or going back.

Edit: 4 years owning a model s and the number of times I used a supercharger is a big fat 1 and that's only because I happen to be at a Rudy's barbecue that had a supercharger and I had the free supercharger for a year.

I think we will find car manufacturers ability to build beautiful cars but they lack the ability to build beautiful software. That's where Tesla wins.

Im planning on purchasing my non-EV non-hybrid Sonata now that the lease just expired. I guess the good thing about all these EVs coming out is that it may help drop the price of gas due to Supply vs Demand.... hopefully.

Agree with this when it comes to quality. This car is a trickled down Polestar. Volvo and Polestar knows how to make performance, quality and safe cars.

Model 3 sedan will definitely have less room than this SUV. It also has way better performance figures than the Tesla. It'll also last much longer seeing that it's a higher quality vehicle.
That back seat is CRAMPED in those videos. My Chevy bolt has more room in the back then what I'm seeing here.

A model 3 is currently 37,800 and after tax credit closer to 30k. I'm not sure the 6k difference is worth it for a non supercharger network car that is smaller (that trunk has nearly no space and the back seats are very cramped in the videos on this car)

After recently doing a lot of research on hybrid/electric vehicles I landed on a Tesla. Maybe I missed it but the figure I saw for this was 0-60 in as low as 3.4 seconds. What do you actually get for 35k? I initially thought that all mach e's were fast as well as polestars. It turns out with both of them the base models are quite slow.
Are you looking for a racecar or a daily car? How fast do you need to drive? Do you go on a track daily?

Also it depends on battery tech and degradation. Tesla battery is at least a gen ahead if not two. Volvo will def have the build and fit in their pocket but not every Tesla is falling apart.

People should looking at polestar as a reference of how this far would fair "long term" since they are a Volvo company.
This car is build in China. Volvo brand is meaningless. Someone posted in this thread which Chinese car this is a rebrand of.

The 2022-2023 Chevrolet Bolt EUV appears to be slightly larger than this Volvo.
It is, this is a TINY crossover, the bolt euv has more room in the back for sure.
