Small but still designed to look like a gas car with too much high blocky hood length and almost no frunk utilization.
Polestar and Volvo could step away from traditional gas car design language. For this car you have a pointless for function long hood. You suffer inside because of that misplaced priority with the unnecessary limitation of back seat legroom and less wheelbase. An MG4 is the car to compare for current design of an ev. Good rear legroom. It's got a 2705mm wheelbase vs. 2650mm for this Volvo. 2 inches right there. 4287mm length vs. 4233mm for the EX30. The difference shows in the back door dimension.

Still not too late to cancel your Model 3 order if you FOMO'd into that. This Volvo is worth the wait and wipes the floor of Tesla for less money with much better quality.

Have you driven this? Sat in it? Getting a commission for posting it? Sounds like hot bovine material you're spinning.

Anyone have a helpful resource on utilizing the lease option if you are over the income cap for an immediate purchase?
My understanding is that when companies pass the credit on to a lease, it means that they are discounting the actual lease buyout price by $7500, so the income cap no longer applies. Would love if someone else could verify this for Volvo, specifically?
And a semi-related question - can you put the $500 down to reserve this for a lease, or is it only for purchase?

Wouldn't touch a Volvo over a Tesla today anyway. Tesla has proven their technology is solid, Volvo has done nothing noteworthy to this point with evs. Rear window visibility is going to be horrible. Hope competition keeps getting better but Tesla still beats other evs imo.
rear view out of my model Y is pretty bad but I'm surviving.
side mirror view was atrocious until I swapped out the mirrors for wide angle ones.

I hear that Volvo is willing to lose 12K dollars per car to on EX30 to compete with Tesla. Ford is losing 30K per EV to compete with Tesla. I really don't understand why these companies are killing themselves to do this. Tesla with its insanely less number of parts that are 90 percent sourced inhouse will beat them to death. I don't like the fact that the only car I can buy a few years from now would be a TESLA with everyone else dead. Just like iphone. At least, the iphone gives you a better build.

Looks intriguing. Wish they offered leather as well as heated/cooled seats.
Cooled seats are a must in TX for 80% of the year. I think the Ioniq 5 offers if but I don't want a Hyundai. If they put them in the Model 3/Y I would already have it.

If you take road trips, sure.

As a local vehicle you charge at home this difference is mostly irrelevant and factors like a larger interior might be more important.

BTW speaking of this thing being designed cheap-

LOL at the "We can't afford to put speakers in the doors... we're just gonna wedge a big Best Buy soundbar under the windshield and hope nobody notices!" design choice for the sound system in the Volvo.

The price is never the price with a legacy car company- cars are sold to dealers, who are then free to mark things up as much as they wish.

if you want "price is the price" Tesla has a business model you might enjoy.
I would not want to attempt a day trip to a destination 150 miles away in the winter in a Bolt. That's not exactly road tripping distance.

Why do all EVs need to have a toy car grille?

Like many have already pointed, really not an SUV and then to only have a range of ~280miles kinda sucks when it's being promoted as a SUV. Also EVs aren't just cars they should also have good tech to pair with the quality of the car . I don't see why anyone would buy this over a Tesla. I understand it's at the price range of a M3 RWD but I would seriously consider Model Y if you are looking for the best EV in terms of quality, safety, tech and service. Just my 2c

Dear America, stop calling hatchbacks SUVs. Thank you

Looks like nice car, wouldn't buy gen 1 car with zero reviews.
We're trending into sub-categories of Mini, Max and Ultra. So SUV Mini.

FWIW I used to think the same thing in NC...and my Lexus did have em.

But with the Tesla I just tell the app 3 minutes before I leave "set car to 70" or whatever, and it's nice and cold in there when I get in- no need for special seats.

In contrast in the Lexus I'd get in and my back/butt would be nice and cool immediately while the rest of me sweated for 5 minutes while the AC cooled the rest of the car.

300 miles in a day seems road trip distance to me (10x normal daily drive)....

If you mean 150 one way and you have a place to plug in there you should be fine unless you're in like the northern Yukon at 30 below or something.

By the time this car gets manufactured in the Summer of 2024 it will be a shitty product compared to the Tesla Cybertruck.
How can you compare 70k car with 30k ?
