I attached a picture for comparison. Top is Q990B rears and Bottom is 9500s. They look more similar in person as that was just the lighting. Physically, the 990B rears have some tapering of flat sides and a raised look to them.
I don't have them in the same room, I just haven't moved the Q800B and 9500s yet after unboxing.

I checked dimensions myself on website and looks similar. The functions look similar too. No reviews online to verify that it's the same sub and soundbar.
Soundbar classification
First number - number of channels
Second number - subs
Third number - number of up firing speakers
So this unit with 7.1.2 added to 9500s which is 2.0.2 makes 9.1.4
It's better than 910b system which is 9.1.2(no rear up firing)
Compared to 990b/c this lacks rear side firing. Which I don't think makes this a deal breaker.
I ordered this for 500 and used like new 9500s from best buy for 171( don't have any nearby me for 129 as others mentioned. )
Lowest 990b has been without a tv bundle was $800.
For $671. I think I can let go rear with side speakers.
I have two expensive sound bars (a previous generation version of this sound bar and a top level LG one) that people have raved about and I've never experience any of the "sound stage" or "sounds like it's coming from behind me!" that other reviewers always claim.

I guess people have mentioned sub is bigger in 990 and soundbar is more clearer. Dimensions are different too. Although they both go as 7.1.2 systems. (Front part only)
910b system can be bot at Amazon/ woot etc for 680+ but overall this system 900c and adding rears make it a better option IMHO for the same price point
