Minisforum has the poorest coolng designs; they are morons. They stick a heatsink on the CPU and they think they are done - to hell with the rest of the system. As for the YouTube reviewers you listed, they are all paid shills. None of these reviewers perform any type of prolonged stress test on these machines - if they did, many would fail thru overheating. ETA Prime is the prime shill. His reviews are vacuous and all he does is play games - there is almost nothing to learn from him.

Since the RAM is soldered, I'd recommend spending the extra $50 to get the 32 GB version.

Much better than a Raspberry Pi
Is it? For the specific/directed use cases of the raspberry pi, this seems overpriced

There is a "GMKtec K1" on the website that shall not be named, I see that one does NOT have soldered RAM and costs $330 but I cannot attest to its thermal performance.

Soldered RAM is LPDDR5-6400, DIMM slots are DDR5-4800, so the igpu perf diff is 15-20% faster on the soldered version.

Personally, all else being equal, I would rather give up the 15-20% perf to have DIMM slots. I hate soldered RAM.

Edit: Oh yeah it also has an ethernet jack built in so no usb dongle crap

I hate soldiered ram also but in this case 32GB should work for the expected life of the machine.

Unless it fails then you throw the whole thing out.

Well this run some general Steam games. Not necessarily anything AAA - unless Marvel Midnight Suns is considered AAA.

This thing is very fast, and especially for the form factor, it is great at light gaming.

I don't think so as the USB-C aren't labeled as thunderbolt.

It would be misleading advertising if it doesn't support egpu. One of the pictures shows an external gpu enclosure looking like it's connected to the product.

Yes, I agree. And their cooling is one of the best in these form factor PCs. I have checked several reviews and literally everybody from techTablet, ETA Prime, Linus Tech praised them (Apart from the HX90 test sample disaster where faulty samples were sent to the reviewers twice). Another thing is using custom TDP control utility, you can push them a lot over the given TDP without ibcreasing fan noise and heat much.

I agree to an extent, that Robtech does a better job testing these than ETA prime does. ETA P does not even check noise levels.
