not just you. the outdoor and sports industries have seen a large reduction in customer interest. Many thought the wave of 2020-22 would continue but with (nearly) everything opening up and returning to pre-pandemic routines, less people are being outdoorsy.
I think REI is trying to maintain this interest and to prevent overstock for the upcoming seasons.
