Quality between the two should be similar (same parent company), and Hart seems to be expanding their tool catalog well. However, I do favor Ryobi for the following: more tools (225?, 250?), and can pretty easily get deals via Direct Tools or Tools Direct (eBay seller).

Great starter kit for any homeowner. This is what I started with 6 years ago. Downside is that you'll get hooked onto the ONE+ system and if you're anything like me, quickly run out of space to store all the Ryobi tools you'd snatch up from the SD alert you're setting up today.

Professionals used brushed tools for decades, a home owner doesn't need brushless. If you can get a good deal on brushless that is great but it is hardly needed.

Yea, that was a sick deal. For a DIYer those tools should last you years and years. If you ever need more batteries tho I'd get ridgid batteries cuz of the LSA they offer. You can get a ridgid to ryobi adapter for under $20 off a certain auction site.

If you live 20mins from a home depot go ryobi, 20 from a walmart go Hart.

I'm not sure why TTI is slacking on the batteries for the Hart though. The current $99 promo for hart can net you two 4ah and a 2ah battery for $100. The ryobi deal from may got you four 4ah batteries for that price.

Thank & Reps, I'll keep that Rigid option handy. Right now I've got my six slot charger loaded and an extra in the flashlight.

Funny now when the wife has a honey do for me
I give her the Ryobi Salute and an honest estimate
of what an Angie's List would cost….

Were they Hyper Tough? That is the other brand Walmart has and they get a lot less positive reviews compared to Hart.

If it was me and I didn't think I'd needed more and more tools I'd probably get this for $200: https://www.lowes.com/pd/CRAFTSMA...5013107409

However, if I felt I would be added more tools to my lineup I'd stay with Ryobi.
