Quality between the two should be similar (same parent company), and Hart seems to be expanding their tool catalog well. However, I do favor Ryobi for the following: more tools (225?, 250?), and can pretty easily get deals via Direct Tools or Tools Direct (eBay seller).

Great starter kit for any homeowner. This is what I started with 6 years ago. Downside is that you'll get hooked onto the ONE+ system and if you're anything like me, quickly run out of space to store all the Ryobi tools you'd snatch up from the SD alert you're setting up today.

Professionals used brushed tools for decades, a home owner doesn't need brushless. If you can get a good deal on brushless that is great but it is hardly needed.

I would wait if you do not need it soon or want a better deal. I got the same kit but with a free starter kit that came with a 6-port fast charger a 4Ah and a 2Ah battery for the same price about 3-4 months ago.

EXACTLY. Nobody needs a dewalt system for 6x the price unless you're a hardcore chronic DIYer or a professional. And even then some specialty higher end tools for specific projects can be bought.

That's funny, I seem to work for more complaints. Noise level, necessity to buy the tools ect...He won't get off the couch to change a light bulb, I'd love cookies and no one complaining at me. I have to also make the cookies. Lol.
For the person buying their first tool set Ryobi is definitely better than Hart. I did just go ahead and buy the corded Skill saw that was recently on here for $30 and it may still be. ( Not to be confused with a skillsaw which is much better but the brand name skill and it's a circular saw, corded) 7 and 1/4 which is also better. If you're okay with running an extension cord you get more power from a corded one anyway. You could grab the Ryobi kit and sell the circular saw and grab a different one or try the circular out, it may just work for your purposes. Home Depot does do free cuts also. A lot of people take issue with this but it should be fine. Just measure and measure again. Good luck with your projects

Got this kit 2 years ago when we got a house. It's been perfect for small around the house jobs. I've used every tool multiple times. Even the lowly flashlight comes in handy when I need a worklight to stay in place (I have a lot of round flashlights).

The only tools I've needed to add along the way are a chainsaw and polesaw, as we have trees. And they use the same batteries.

Overall, definitely recommend this kit to start off.

Hi all, general DIYer using Ryobi tools for about 10 years. Love all the selection and prices. Have had issues with the circular saw cutting anything thicker than half inch plywood. Thought I would try the brushless version and am really impressed. If you are thinking about upgrading one of your Ryobi tools, recommend the brushless circular saw. Happy building.
