Just got my 2.5 year old the 24V razor quad. Added a potentiometer to control speed/response. She loves it.

Its a higher price point but much better built and goes much better on grass with real rubber pneumatic tires.

52 for the 12v seems like a great deal. I can't find the replacement battery, but if it is around 10AH then it is about the same cost as this whole toy

Might be a good idea to buy a battery connector for whatever power tools battery system you have and use that. I purchased one of the cars on there and plan on using my Milwaukee M12 battery and get the adapter from Amazon $12

Would you have considered a $4,000 option for your 2.5 year old? It would, no doubt, be much better built than yours. It would also be 9 times more expensive, which just so happens to be the difference between this deal and your recommendation.
