Get your new phone up and running first. Look for any issues for a week.
Do a factory reset on your old phone. take a picture of the screen with your new phone to show no issues of front and back while on. In case Samsung employee tries to pull a fast one on you.
Turn your old phone off and wrap it up. You can dop off at any Fedex drop off location or find a Dollar General store. They will scan the package and send a receipt notice via text to your phone. Samsung will receive a couple business days later and let you know they receive. Few more days until they get a chance to review and ok the trade-in.

Samsung was having tech glitches their previous (fake) deals week. It might work later for the 512GB. I'll check again.

They ship you your new phone with packing material. Some soft sheeting and a lot of cardboard that is long, shredded like a pair of 80s jeans, rolled up on the new phone. A fedex return label will be inside. You will need to tape it to the outside of the box, on top of the original label (or remove the original label and apply new one).
Get your new phone up and running first. Look for any issues for a week.

Samsung isn't listing trade-in with the words scratches or burn-in. Only cracked screens. Others should chime in their experience, but you may be getting top dollar anyway.
S23 was my ideal or perfect upgrade i've been waiting for. As was the S10+. Had everything on my checklist ticked off. i did end up trading in a couple samsung phones for a pair of factory re-newed S22 Ultras recently. That expired deal was way to good to pass up. So holding on those until S24 ultra to get my money out of their use. The real S23 ultra deal should pop up end of August or beginning of Sept based on previous years. Could be a Best Buy thing, Costco or Samsung direct. Set your slickdeals alert.
