No free memory upgrade to 512gb. With regular offer at 512GB free upgrade, it is $427 with education discount comparing to $449, hence not good deal for 512GB version. But good deal for 256GB.

The biggest upgrade is the 8gen2. I own both s22u and s23u, the s22u is constantly a hot potato while s23u is at most warm under heavy load. Other than the processor, the battery life is a huge improvement. At $200 difference probally it makes sense to upgrade but not over that.

They ship you your new phone with packing material. Some soft sheeting and a lot of cardboard that is long, shredded like a pair of 80s jeans, rolled up on the new phone. A fedex return label will be inside. You will need to tape it to the outside of the box, on top of the original label (or remove the original label and apply new one).

Get your new phone up and running first. Look for any issues for a week.

Do a factory reset on your old phone. take a picture of the screen with your new phone to show no issues of front and back while on. In case Samsung employee tries to pull a fast one on you.

Turn your old phone off and wrap it up. You can dop off at any Fedex drop off location or find a Dollar General store. They will scan the package and send a receipt notice via text to your phone. Samsung will receive a couple business days later and let you know they receive. Few more days until they get a chance to review and ok the trade-in.

Sorry if this was already answered, but why does the app for in store colors show both a shipping and pickup date? Is pickup for the phone and mailing for them to send a trade in box or something? It seems to show both dates all the way to picking payment which has me kind of sketched out

Haven't gone through all the comments, but I wanted to ask. I have my S22 Ultra with Verizon that is still being paid off by their promo credit every month for the next year or so. If I trade that in to Samsung will that end the promo with Verizon? I dont want to be stuck with the remaining balance of the S22 ultra with verizon.
I'm not sure if anyone ever answered you as I just skimmed some of the comments.

As long as you trade in for the unlocked version, your credits shouldn't end. When you get the new phone, just pop the sim out of your old and into your new phone.

Where the credits may stop is if you do an "upgrade" - So don't buy the Verizon one and activate through the Samsung store. Only buy Unlocked!

Once you pop your sim in, it'll just ask if you are changing phones and you'll just need to confirm via the verizon app/text message/email.

I currently have a trade in credit from a Note9 that I traded in when I got the Flip3 - Which I then flipped to Samsung for the Flip4....So my bill still says Im paying off my Flip3 even though I traded it in back when the Flip4 came out and I am still receiving the credits for the Note9 I decided to send in that was just sitting around. Going on 10 months now and will be sending in my S22Ultra (Which is actually the phone I am currently using on my line) for the S23Ultra Unlocked to keep this musical chairs game going.

*It's been about 3.5 months since I swapped from my Flip4 back to my S22Ultra - so I'm assuming nothing has changed in those 3.5 months*

I also periodically switch between the Flip4 and S22U - depending on mood/vacation plans etc.

So as long as you go with unlocked and just pop in the sim card, you should be golden. If you end up getting verizon involved at all, there's a chance they'll try to go through their process and jack everything up.

It'll go cheaper before the next phone comes out. I've upgraded the ultra line for ~$100 each year
that might be a better plan but i cant wait and this is decent. =P

Is this worth it if I'm upgrading from a Note 9 ($310 trade in) for a total of $689 before taxes?

800 for a note 9 is a no Brainer. Worst case, they return it and you can do the same. No loss
Where are you seeing $800 for Note 9? When I select Note 9 for trade in, it's only offering $310?

That's why I don't update the software. My S20 is still going strong since I got it when it released in 2020
Yeah unless you play games on your cell phone or run a Onlyfans there's no reason to upgrade any phone from the past 3-4 years

Fyi CA charges tax excluding any trade in so pre trade in value, which makes little sense to me since I already paid full sales tax on the the trade in phone. This was changed a few years ago. You're better off waiting for a deal that doesn't involve trade in or lower trade in value.

Not sure what they were looking at for sure, but if you select T-mobile, it's an $800 trade-in with them (and you still get the other $200 off from Samsung). But they also have $800 off without a trade-in if you're a new customer or adding a line. Still trying to decide whether to do it.

If you're trading 512GB. You should be given 512GB too!
