Get your new phone up and running first. Look for any issues for a week.
Do a factory reset on your old phone. take a picture of the screen with your new phone to show no issues of front and back while on. In case Samsung employee tries to pull a fast one on you.
Turn your old phone off and wrap it up. You can dop off at any Fedex drop off location or find a Dollar General store. They will scan the package and send a receipt notice via text to your phone. Samsung will receive a couple business days later and let you know they receive. Few more days until they get a chance to review and ok the trade-in.

Went from S21 5G to S23U 256GB for $589+tax. Pick up at local BestBuy.
If price comes down in the near future, can always email Samsung to request credit/adjustment. They were pretty easy with it based on my S21 purchase with them previously.
I was surprised to see the S23U is an ounce heavier than my note 20 with a smaller screen.
