No free memory upgrade to 512gb. With regular offer at 512GB free upgrade, it is $427 with education discount comparing to $449, hence not good deal for 512GB version. But good deal for 256GB.

The biggest upgrade is the 8gen2. I own both s22u and s23u, the s22u is constantly a hot potato while s23u is at most warm under heavy load. Other than the processor, the battery life is a huge improvement. At $200 difference probally it makes sense to upgrade but not over that.

They ship you your new phone with packing material. Some soft sheeting and a lot of cardboard that is long, shredded like a pair of 80s jeans, rolled up on the new phone. A fedex return label will be inside. You will need to tape it to the outside of the box, on top of the original label (or remove the original label and apply new one).

Get your new phone up and running first. Look for any issues for a week.

Do a factory reset on your old phone. take a picture of the screen with your new phone to show no issues of front and back while on. In case Samsung employee tries to pull a fast one on you.

Turn your old phone off and wrap it up. You can dop off at any Fedex drop off location or find a Dollar General store. They will scan the package and send a receipt notice via text to your phone. Samsung will receive a couple business days later and let you know they receive. Few more days until they get a chance to review and ok the trade-in.

The phone is on... disable features like AOD, pen memo, location history, etc. If you have social apps that's a source too.
What happened was that after I transferred data and etc successfully last night I turned off either the screen or the phone. (no aod or anything social battery was at least 80%) On next day the phone was dead.

512GB Cream shows up at $1026 with the employee/edu account but goes back to 1179 at checkout. Chatted with 2 agents, and both refused to honor the price.
Me too. Talking to them is like talking to a wall. Gave them screenshots as well. But no!

Is it worth trading in a ZFold4 for a S23 Ultra?

I bailed on checkout. Not worth the 250 to go from S22U to the S23U .
Agreed. 250 was tempting, but review comparison of the two phones really made it seem like a waste. When the price jumped to right at 300 after adding tax based on my zip code, absolutely closed the tab.

I think the big benefit is just keeping the latest phone, yearly on these $250-300 upgrades, because as you can see in this example, an s21 ultra isn't going to pull as much value as the previous current year through shop Samsung.

But with plateauing hardware and features, is there any real reason to keep up with this, unless your current phone is just dying?

Can u still get full $650 trade in for Fold3 with just black lines and unresponsive touch on inner screen, no cracks, outer screen all works? Because requirements just mention no cracks.

Why would anyone upgrade an S22 ultra to a S23 ultra? Even for 250 it's almost the exact same phone and specs.
The SD 8 GEN 1 is an inefficient piece of garbage, it uses Samsung fab
Gen 2 uses TSMC and is solo much better for battery life

You lose $100 just by keeping it longer like until next year january. You may eventually buy it for $100 extra. No one can justify i made usage for extra feature worth $200-300. But you get phone in warranty for 1 year + extra battery life. Software support. $250 upgrade per phone every year is fine. Unlike apple where you lose $500 straight every year

Helping those who are waiting for s24 ultra. It has not much upgrades again. So you keep waiting and waiting for the latest and greatest

I wish Apple would incorporate the stylus with their Max line. Love the idea of quick notes, sketches, and using it as a remote for video and pictures.

Samsung makes great products but very shady. Video your device functioning correctly, placing it in box, sealing it - be prepared to dispute when they refuse your trade in and try to charge you

Better battery , and better camera. My s22u camera was absolute trash. And as you say about having the newest phone and the top trade in value is absolutely true

What was that deal? I did a SD search and the only refurb deal I can find is from last year for $499

I see one for $469. Was that it? Had to use recertified instead of refurb
Yeah, and the 128gb was available briefly for even cheaper. The trade in deals were the SLICK part though--$375 for an s21 which is available on ebay/amazon for $200. Made the out of pocket for the s22 ultra ~300. $550 for a brand new s23 Ultra? Yes please Smilie
