Get your new phone up and running first. Look for any issues for a week.
Do a factory reset on your old phone. take a picture of the screen with your new phone to show no issues of front and back while on. In case Samsung employee tries to pull a fast one on you.
Turn your old phone off and wrap it up. You can dop off at any Fedex drop off location or find a Dollar General store. They will scan the package and send a receipt notice via text to your phone. Samsung will receive a couple business days later and let you know they receive. Few more days until they get a chance to review and ok the trade-in.

Your best bet us Costco'S screen protector which they customize in store and cut to size, if something happens you got back they put a new one on. Probably best choice.
For case, I always buy spigen. Literally I cannot use S22U therefore 23U without case. It's just impossible if you type a lot. Spigen won't be super protective so if you are clumsy and drop all the time, get something bulky, otherwise the ones I got from spiger are always sleek and helps make it grippy, protects corners against drops but edges won't help of drop face down to uneven surface. Good luck.
Best option is to replace the back glass yourself. They sell for $20 on Amazon, just need a heat gun and some patience. I've done it before and trade-in was accepted with no issues.
