No free memory upgrade to 512gb. With regular offer at 512GB free upgrade, it is $427 with education discount comparing to $449, hence not good deal for 512GB version. But good deal for 256GB.

The biggest upgrade is the 8gen2. I own both s22u and s23u, the s22u is constantly a hot potato while s23u is at most warm under heavy load. Other than the processor, the battery life is a huge improvement. At $200 difference probally it makes sense to upgrade but not over that.

They ship you your new phone with packing material. Some soft sheeting and a lot of cardboard that is long, shredded like a pair of 80s jeans, rolled up on the new phone. A fedex return label will be inside. You will need to tape it to the outside of the box, on top of the original label (or remove the original label and apply new one).

Get your new phone up and running first. Look for any issues for a week.

Do a factory reset on your old phone. take a picture of the screen with your new phone to show no issues of front and back while on. In case Samsung employee tries to pull a fast one on you.

Turn your old phone off and wrap it up. You can dop off at any Fedex drop off location or find a Dollar General store. They will scan the package and send a receipt notice via text to your phone. Samsung will receive a couple business days later and let you know they receive. Few more days until they get a chance to review and ok the trade-in.

The design is about the same... Feature set is identical, if not within striking distance. This is like going from iphone 12 to 13, rather than 14. Minor upgrade.

Based on the Flip 5's new design I suspect the S24/5 will bring better changes.
keep waiting

It's not about being with ATT for 3 years, it's about not being able to upgrade for 3 years unless you want to lose your monthly device credits

Does anyone know if Samsung is still using only the sh!ttyest Bluetooth codecs? On my Note 20 Ultra it only supports the SBC codec, ya know the one where the music sounds like it's coming from an Edison wax record player. And even in developer options, it won't let you change the codec.

Don't have the s23 ultra yet but my s22 ultra in developer options has the following

SBC, AAC, AptX, LDAC, and SSC (Samsung Seamless Codec). My phone mostly connects to buds live and uses the SSC I believe, but for other devices I think AAC is probably the common choice, SBC should be the lowest fallback option.

Thanks Ben, Mine lists the codecs in developer options, but everything is greyed out, not allowing any switching. I miss the days when we could unlock the bootloader and do anything we wanted.

Do you have a Bluetooth speaker or device connected? When I have nothing connected in developer options it sits on sbc and can't be changed but none of the options are grayed out. If I connect my buds live, it switches to ssc, but I can manually select SSC, sbc, or AAC which are the codecs the earbuds support. I don't have any earbuds that support AptX or LDAC to test those two but based on how it functions I think all the listed codecs are supported by the phone and your options are restricted to the limitations of the connected device.

It's like every new samsung phone out, someone will say it's huge improvement on heating and battery life. Nah, I fell for this for 3 times, I'm fine with my s22u. Wait till a few updates, the s23u will be just the same, hot and camera fks up.

Contemplating on trade-in with my Flip4 512 Gb which stops working every 6 months and I have to pay $99 to Samsung care plus.

With summer here and having heat issues I am tired of Samsung phones, was it just me or my Flip 4 or does everyone has the same experience. Its great until it works but leaves me out when I need it the most may be I am just Jinxed.

Did you get that at checkout because it's $629 in the cart.
Samsung website is notoriously bait and switch.
I want that exact offer, it's 629 plus tax when you go yo pay.
sorry, I didn't take it all the way to checkout

S22 Ultra 256gb have 12gb ram vs S23 Ultra 128gb with 8gb ram. i'd wait for a free storage upgrade deal.

$630 + tax ain't it for 512gb. $355 isn't reflecting on checkout.

Lol. You literally picked the worst one to stop at, and to not move to the best one in at least 3 years.
