Same situation here. Anyone on the fence, this is a great guitar at a price where if you decide to sell in a few years you'll probably break even or even make a few bucks.
I got the American Performer II in Penny color a couple years back via Adorama for $750. Probably the best deal I've ever gotten in my life lol.
That said does anyone know how the Performer II compares to this Professional II? Is it worth double dipping or is my guitar going to essentially be equal enough for an intermediate / non professional player that it isn't worth the money to buy another?

You definitely shouldn't bother if you're saving for a Les Paul. That's like you're buying 2 of the same guitar first.
