Got an open box excellent for 190. gonna give them a shot, I've had these synergy b20's for a while now.
Busy today but will go tomorrow to pick em up.
I have the little brothers, the R-40M Next Gen with 4" woofers. I have them on my desktop, toed in, and turn them perpendicular to the wall for when I'm not near-field. My first Klipshes and the new tweeter cones don't have the harsh fatiqueing treble that kept me away from Klipsch in the past. BTW I paid $160 on Woot about a year ago. Wonder if these 5" ones might go even cheaper? Retail price is insanely inflated IMO. Must admit that I think these look great, not that that's a great reason to buy speakers, but they sound good to me, especially after aclimating to them.
Research is so tedious and labor intensive.

You're right. Sometimes I think BB is actually trying to put themselves out of business.
I don't know if they do it with speakers, but with computers they obsfuscate because they sometimes have manufacturers make a product for them that has worse components and isn't up to specs for the model on the manufacturer's website.

Probably worth the extra $70 for reference premier second gen (RP 500m ii) over these reference speakers. Improvements in gen 2 are pretty significant for music listening.
