I have this machine and have used it for about a year. It makes a great brew and is certainly consistent.

The carafe, while insulated, it not that big. If you drink out of mugs, you'll probably get a little over three mugs of coffee before its empty.

The carafe isn't fully sealed. If I make coffee earlier in the morning, I usually warm it with hot water which helps it stay warm.

The 12 cup they say is not what most people would imagine a cup size.

Microwaving isn't nearly as bad as I used to think it was. There has been a good bit of research done pointing to it doing pretty minimal damage actually. This is my favorite video on it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KU3uhoRYi-o

This is a highly rated coffee maker by Oxo that rarely goes on sale. It's Wirecutter's "also great" pick. Features a double-walled insulated thermal carafe and a compact design. Has a switch to select between full carafe or single serving.
The typical price is $180.

I also have this coffeemaker, I received it as a Christmas present from my son. Easy to use and makes a good cup of coffee either by the cup or by the carafe. The carafe, while insulated, doesn't keep the coffee as hot as my Keurig thermal carafe but 30 seconds in the microwave fixes that. It will stay hot for about an hour and a half, then your mug will need reheating but this is only a minor inconvenience. Easy to clean and use.

Would this be an upgrade over my 8 cup Bonavita that I have had for 7 years now?

I saw a couple of reviews that said this was better than a Bonavita. Found a warehouse one for $91.

I've had a Bonavita and it broke after a year. Warranty was worthless since they got bought by another company.
I bought this instead and it has been a great purchase. I've used it almost everyday for almost two years without any problems. Brews a great pot of coffee consistently.

We needed a compact, low height coffee maker that could replace our crappy Keurig. After a ton of research, we landed on this, and have really enjoyed it for the first half-year of ownership. Really no complaints outside of the carafe not keeping heat super long. Not a problem for a small pot that you can get through quickly.

Have this coffeemaker. As others have said, makes great tasting coffee, thermal doesn't keep hot as long as you would expect. Better than others, surprisingly not longer though.

Also, it does not have a timer to program a cup for the morning, and that's a big disappointment.

But, it makes great tasting coffee.

Purchased this for my folks a while ago for a little more than this and it's been great.

Is it chemex level coffee? No. But it's much much better than any pods or any drip coffee maker that we've ever owned.

probably not. I have a bonavita for a few years now and have been happy with it. the thermal carafe keeps coffee drinkable all day long. the coffee it makes is pretty solid. just need to descale it every so often.

Moccamaster or nothing
Moccamaster isn't all it's cracked up to be.
It has poor material choice design on some of its parts along with sloppiness in its design that shouldn't be, especially on such a pricey appliance.
