This is sprayer is at the bottom end of the Graco product line. It delivers most of the value for the minimum price.

It's part of a series which is targeted to the "pro-sumer", DIYer to handyman.
The next models up, the X5 and X7, incrementally add to the pressure/volume capability. The X5 has a slightly higher stand, and X7 adds a rolling stand. There is also some slight differences to the control handles. Otherwise they share most of the parts. If you don't hit the flow+pressure limit (as a casual painter it's only likely to be a problem with a long hose and big tip) you are getting most of the value with this model.

The professional series is a big jump up in price. They have more powerful motors, and the pump internals can be quickly replaced as a module. If you are a pro running it full time, that's an important feature. Otherwise pump life and replacement pump parts aren't likely to every come up.

As an example of the minor differences, the homeowner series comes with the SG2 spray gun while the pro versions have the SG3. If you look at the parts diagram, the sole difference is an added swivel fitting to the inlet. That addition is expanded to five points in the product listing.

I totally got in on that deal back in 21! I've used this sprayer for a cabinet door project, painting some Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane on new, primed doors. It's really good, especially compared to the $40 HVLP I used to prime with BIN shellac. Next, I may try to use this to do some exterior house painting.

I have a couple of the more expensive ones but these are great. Strore them properly and you will get years of use. One house painting and this thing more than pays for itself.

This is a good deal if it meets your needs for small to medium jobs. I recently purchased a refurb Graco X5 off of Ebay for a little less than this and it looked brand new. I've used a few different airless sprayers over the years and the X5 performed great for spraying me shop that was due for a new paint job. The X5 is slightly better then the model posted here but again for small to medium projects either should do great and both are miles ahead of the handheld airless sprayers. The only thing negative I've heard (no personal experience) about the OP model is that Graco pretty much considers them disposable so parts are limited. HTH

Bought mine for $129 a couple years back but absolutely love it! It painted a mirror finish on my cabinets and I've never used a paint gun before this one… so that should tel you something. All day it's worth $230. Had I known how well it was spray, I would have bought it long ago!!

Just use rv antifreeze or mineral spirits. Way cheaper.

I bought this to paint the exterior of my house. Although it makes it a bit easier, proper clean up of the sprayer and masking everything is an offset to the time saved compared to just using rollers and brushes.

Used it for one day and then went back to rollers and brushes.
