It's part of a series which is targeted to the "pro-sumer", DIYer to handyman.
The next models up, the X5 and X7, incrementally add to the pressure/volume capability. The X5 has a slightly higher stand, and X7 adds a rolling stand. There is also some slight differences to the control handles. Otherwise they share most of the parts. If you don't hit the flow+pressure limit (as a casual painter it's only likely to be a problem with a long hose and big tip) you are getting most of the value with this model.
The professional series is a big jump up in price. They have more powerful motors, and the pump internals can be quickly replaced as a module. If you are a pro running it full time, that's an important feature. Otherwise pump life and replacement pump parts aren't likely to every come up.
As an example of the minor differences, the homeowner series comes with the SG2 spray gun while the pro versions have the SG3. If you look at the parts diagram, the sole difference is an added swivel fitting to the inlet. That addition is expanded to five points in the product listing.

Used it for one day and then went back to rollers and brushes.
