Fire Emblem Engage is pretty good but I fell out of love. I will certainly pick it back up and play again eventually but, for me at least, it wasn't as "engaging" as Three Houses was. I know Three Houses isn't like the original Emblem games but it made me fall in love with the story and characters. I thoroughly enjoyed Fire Emblem Warriors too.

The characters don't look interesting in the new ones. Very childish & emo. I used to like the series

Was the opposite for me. I didn't care much for Three Houses academic/school spiel that recent Persona games have veered toward, but loved Engage.

Engage is a regular fire emblem game, and feels very similar to other games released prior to 3H. You want it to be Three Houses, but it isn't. You will start playing it but automatically feel the difference. Hard to describe. It has large shoes to fill, and tries to with a complicated buff system with the "rings", but it is a letdown that quite honestly was doomed to receive.

Three Houses is the best game in the FE series. Engage is just "normal", which makes it feels WORSE when it gets released after Three Houses.

Yea with the ring system I felt they are just doing money grab like how mobile game works nowadays.
I've been playing FE since GBA/gamecube era and this is the first game I still didn't own yet(I may eventually buy it with a big sale. FF16 is coming I know I won't have time for this for a long while, maybe hold it til BF)
