Brushless motors tend to last longer and are more efficient (longer battery life). I own this set and the brushless versions are much better build quality and performance. That being said these would be fine for a hobbyist or homeowner.

Brushless runs a lot cooler after extended use. You'll definitely appreciate this if you're putting up a fence.

Yep. And before that it was corded tools. Before that were manually operated tools.
I suppose everyone needs to decide where on the technology spectrum they want to be.
Second, the jump from manual to corded or corded to cordless is a lot bigger leap than from brushed to brushless.
